The bathroom was quite old. Hence, there was wear and tear. in addition, to dirty tiles and faucets. in the corners of the rooms there was dust and dirt. The lift didn’t work and there was steep stairs we also had a two year-old with us three large suitcases and a pram with no working lift. The positives were: very good location walking distance to the centre of town, the staff were very very friendly and the ceilings and architecture of the building were beautiful.

Our trip in late August was accompanied by a heat wave. The AC was weak, and couldn't cool down the room below 28 degrees C with high humidity. Due to how sewage was engineered, toilet paper needed to be thrown into the bin, and even then, using any water produced a foul smell. Lastly, our check in was anything but pleasant. After running to make it before 10 PM, the door was closed and the ghost unresponsive, despite us calling ahead and announcing that we will be right before 10PM. We entered with other guests, but the host for back only in 2.5h. Overheated, waited outside, useless AC, smelly room, sleepless night. Only get this is you really want to be next to the central cathedral. There are better places otherwise.

This is an old world hotel that does not disappoint in its style and uniqueness. The location is right in the heart of historic Palermo with all the sights within 15 minutes walk in any direction. The breakfast is amazing. The rooftop restaurant is a charming and quiet with a wonderful city panorama with mountain surrounding all around and great for sunsets. The terrace bar is quiet and private with a charming waiter who will remember you. This is a spot for travelers who enjoy an old world experience with charm. If you want to be overlay pampered and think you deserve fantastic luxury - then stay away. You’ll just complain and I don’t want the staff to have to deal with you.
