Fantastic overnight stay. Made to feel very welcome upon arrival by the owner who then took us to a great vantage point to take in the stunning views whilst giving us a brief bit of background history surrounding the building. We took our dog who was welcomed greatly. The staff on site were pleasant and polite and on hand to assist with anything we needed. Breakfast was great. Can't wait to return later on in the year.

Excellent place,in the middle of nowhere but easy access to town and coast. Simon the owner could not do enough for us. We took our pup and who was welcome everywhere.would definitely stay there again.

Manageress went out of her way to make us welcome. Room was a fair size, clean with ample storage, small fridge and a good size ensuite with bath and separate shower. Only noise you can hear is the river flowing nearby and the birds at first light. Varied menu and expect good quality and service. Cosy and warm bar. Small hotel with ample parking close by. Highly recommended and will visit again.

Excellent attention to detail. The Landlord and his team were extremely friendly, helpful and nothing was too much bother. Free parking was an added bonus.

Lots of easy parking, set beside the river. Very quiet, great food - wonderfully crispy chips - fantastic choice of malt whiskeys. A lovely hotel with friendly staff. Certainly stay there again.

This is a hotel that we have stayed at during different times of the year. This weekend was very cold but it was lovely and warm in the room.The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. The evening meal in the restaurant was outstanding with service to match. Breakfast was equally excellent.

This was our second stay at the property. We received a warm welcome as usual and checked into our spacious family room. The hotel is clean but a little tired in places. We're happy to see that they are undertaking a refurbishment and look forward to seeing the results next year. The location is outstanding; a short walk from the beach and high street. Caro the host was lovely and friendly and very hospitable. The old Manor House is beautiful set in rolling countryside. The bedroom was large, beds were comfortable and good shower. Caro provides an excellent breakfast with plenty of choice. Would defo visit again. The Globe Inn nearby does good food and the staff and locals were good fun.

The staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect, this farm is a fabulous escape and more ! The lodge was clean and well equipped and had the added luxury of a hot tub. We didnt try the axe throwing or the archery but we will be back so who knows

This is real gem, hidden away in the Devon countryside, at the end of long private driveway - with rather too many deep potholes, a danger to your car's tyres and suspension. Once you're there you get get a warm welcome - all of the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The rooms are quite spacious. and the beds are very comfortable. This B&B/restaurant is fantastic and I can not fault it at all! The rooms are spacious, clean,warm and comfortable with plenty of free tea/coffee. Andy who initially greeted me was pleasant and helpful, as I left before breakfast was served the following day he arranged for a packed breakfast to be made for me! this has not happened for me before at other hotels. We stayed two nights at the Bear in September and enjoyed it immensely. This is a ancient Coaching Inn and so layout is a little quirky. But the room was a good size and extremely comfortable. Large four poster bed, comfortable armchair, sufficient hanging space, a well appointed en suite and tea making facilities, made for a great stay. Breakfast was individually made and well cooked. We also are in the bar late on Sunday and the roast (topside of beef and all trimmings) was outstanding....
