Marvellous! We had a magnificent stay in this cosy hotel with outstanding food. All staff is excellent, but the chef deserves an extra medal for producing such delicious meals. We're recommending this little hide away to all of our friends and everyone who wants to know.

Lovely room above a quiet pub. Serves tremendous food. Owner is lovely and will do his best to make your stay a special one. Nice touches like the tray of home made biscuits and fresh milk for the morning tea/coffee. Espresso machine in the room was great. Nice for a short break and not far from the M5 or the cotswolds

Lovely dog friendly pub with rooms. Dog walk from car park into field behind. Very friendly staff and delicious food. Very clean, fresh bed linen. Great stop off. Would definitely recommend and will visit again.

The Anchor is a village pub with some rooms at the back. We were in "Lavers" which, I suspect, is the smallest room but perfectly fine for the two of us. The room itself was immaculate, clean with good quality fittings and views over open countryside. We only had a small shower room but again well appointed.
Breakfast is do-it-yourself with a toaster and kettle in the room but there was fresh orange, bottled water, butter and milk ( real milk, not UHT) in the fridge, and cereals, bread and a...

We were made very welcome by Sophie and Andy who looked after all our needs and nothing was too much trouble. The room was lovely and comfortable with all facilities. We had the cooked breakfasts which were excellent. We would highly recommend Lea House.

Wow! What an amazing two days. We stayed in the King Henry VIII Suite, which was such a fantastic experience. The restaurant meals were superb and all the staff were friendly and helpful.

We had a fantastic stay, by far the cleanest hotel & room we have stayed in - (& that’s quite a lot!). Excellent food & lovely, helpful staff, Nicole particularly gave top notch service. Very vegan friendly which is hugely appreciated!
Gorgeous hotel & decor. Our cosy room was perfect, not really that small either!
Highly recommend the afternoon tea - we will be back!

I don't normally use superlatives but for this place I am prepared to make an exception. We stayed for two nights and from start to finish it was an excellent experience. The welcome was warm. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The place was spotless - both the room and the common areas. The food was superb, the menu creative and the table service friendly and timely without being intrusive. Portion size was good too. Throughout our stay we were struck by the attention to detail. All the...

The best area to stay in Minchinhampton is within the village itself, particularly around the historic Market Place.
Minchinhampton village offers a quintessential Cotswold experience, centred around its charming Market Place where you'll find local shops and a traditional pub. The village is set on a hill, providing lovely views over the surrounding valleys and the famous Minchinhampton Common, an expansive area of open grassland. It's a quiet, picturesque base that feels authentically English.
Couples looking for a peaceful retreat will find Minchinhampton ideal. You can enjoy strolls across the Common, perhaps spotting the grazing cattle and horses, and explore the independent shops.
When is the best time to go to Minchinhampton?
The best time to visit Minchinhampton is during the summer months, from June to August, when the weather is generally warm and pleasant.
During this period, the days are long, making it ideal for exploring the Minchinhampton Common and surrounding Cotswold villages. You'll find it's a great time for outdoor activities like walking, cycling, or simply enjoying the scenery. Couples and families often appreciate the better weather for picnics and extended time outdoors.
Spring (April to May) and early autumn (September to October) are also lovely times to visit. The countryside is particularly beautiful with blooming flowers or changing leaves, and it's generally quieter than the peak summer season. This can be great for those seeking a more tranquil escape, perhaps for a romantic getaway or a peaceful family break without the summer crowds.
