Was only at the hotel for about 9 hours, and 8 of it was asleep, but at 3am after waking up and requiring a fan in the room the receptionist brought one to my room upon request at 3am! Huge thank you to the staff for this extremely accommodating service.

Lovely pub with rooms. Went for a friends birthday and had a super time. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I’m coeliac and the choice of gluten free food was very good. The fish and chips were excellent! Would highly recommend.

Absolutely lovely stay at The Royal oak. Beautifully decorated throughout, with a really warm and homely feel. Staff were welcoming, dinner and breakfast were first-class and my room was spotlessly clean with a great bathroom and comfy bed. Would definitely return, I stayed for work but it would be a lovely place for a weekend away.

Excellent hotel. The room was large with an incredibly comfy bed and good powerful shower. The staff were really helpful and friendly and the breakfast really good. We ate in the restaurant both nights. A special thank you to Ben our waiter. We would highly recommend Bel and the Dragon.

We recently returned and stayed in a comfy double room last weekend. Very well maintained hotel, room and facilities. The room was spotless. Great choice of indoor and outdoor seating and restaurant and bar services. We were satisfied with the gym. We didn’t use the sauna and steam rooms this time. Not the quietest of venues during event nights.

Limited 24 hour room service as chef not in, but Yemi (receptionist, I believe) was more than happy to try and help and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. Beautiful looking hotel, the Starbucks could use some updating as the barista did not know how to make some of the basic drinks, however again did his best. Cannot fault the staff at all. We had a lovely two day stay. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The food was good and the room was serviced each day. Tea and coffee was available in the room and milk provided on asking. Excellent breakfast too.

A little off the beaten track but this hotel is of exceptional quality and it a bargain for the price we paid. VERY quiet and comfortable. Superb breakfast too. We'll definitely return!

A very comfortable last minute stay in this lovely pub. The rooms are very cosy and comfortable, the service outstanding and the food just delicious. The only thing I'd change is the plug and bright green fire escape lighting that illuminates the room too much for a good night's sleep. Overall a very lovely stay.

The owner has only been there a short time so some rooms are still to be upgraded. However, mine was excellent with everything I needed. Staff are exceptionally helpful and the food is amazing with a large, varied gluten free menu and nothing too much trouble. Parking is easy. Highly recommended

Staff were lovely. Had a long drive and arrived on the cutoff for ordering dinner, but thankfully the staff were kind enough to still let us order. We had both dinner and breakfast, both were absolutely delicious. There was some games we could borrow which we enjoyed playing in the bar, only small disadvantage is the bar closed at 10:30. Room was very clean, stocked with tea and coffee and the extra pillows in the wardrobe was a nice addition. Overall, we had a very peaceful, relaxing stay.

We were looking for an overnight stop travelling back North from Southampton and came across here. There was a big extension being built to the front of the pub so parking was difficult but otherwise caused no inconvenience. We had 3 rooms and all were very comfortable and well equipped . What stood out about this place was the staff, all were genuinely lovely and friendly. Checked in and personally shown to our rooms. We ate at the pub and the food was quickly served and was simply delicious...

Great hotel, good service particularly the brasserie restaurant. We enjoyed the spa treatments. A bit noisy on the Saturday night.
