"This is a terribly dated hotel, the staff barely seem to speak English, the room was grubby, the window didn’t close (or open) properly, the bathroom was dirty, the shower took about ten minutes to warm up, the bed was rock hard and the sheets were dirty. Add to that the breakfast you paid for turns out only to be the continental and the hot breakfast (which looked terrible on others plates) is an additional cost. Avoid. "

"wasn't enough towels in room and cups for a 4 person room, 1 towel and 1 cup but the lady brought us the necessary amount of both, other than that it was a good stay."

"Upgraded to a lovely comfortable room with a great bathroom , everything very clean and tidy, staff lovely the hotel bar has lots of choice and is very popular. The included breakfast had a wide choice and the plates were substantial very good, although the lone chap in the morning was working his socks off as breakfast was very busy due to groups staying for cup final! This meant coffee and tea etc wasn't getting filled up that quickly but this is my only criticism. We come to GX to meet friends a few times a year and the Ethorpe is our hotel of choice."

"My party did not use the parking facilities. However the staff, on entry were more welcoming. The rooms were clean and tidy. The big drawback was the amount of time it took to get warm (not hot) water at the sink. This was overcome by boiling water with the kettle; not an efficient way to achieve the result. Also having no sink plug was also wasteful. At least I overcame that obstacle because I travel with a universal plug. The shower head position made it impossible to stand beneath whilst washing. Holding the hose made it difficult to wash effectively."

"A beautiful old hotel building Has ample free parking for guests , tube is only a 10 min walk with loads of amenities around The best think for me was the Indian restaurant inside the hotel, the food is amazing and do my fav curry Laal Mass They also do daily offers Breakfast is also very good , with eggs to order how you like them"

"At breakfast, good selection of both buffet and served cooked food. Jane was particularly helpful."

"Was placed in room 3, 2nd floor. Which had a double and single and sofa bed. Also had a small kitchen area with a fridge freezer. Bathroom had a bath with a shower. Shower was very powerful. Room was basic but clean and everything I needed for 2 nights. I was female staying on my own. Felt safe. The only let down I saw was the communal stairs reallyed needed a good vacuum. Carpark was large and plenty of space and free of charge."

"The description stated a king size bed, we got 2 beds put together where we fell in the middle. There was only 1 bath towel for the 2 of us."

"Arrival and parking was simple. Reception staff were gracious and helpful. Room and facilities were very good. Bar food and breakfast were absolutely lovely. Overall our experience was amazing and we've already booked again! Highly recommended hotel."
