Downstairs around the bar was nice, served a good pint of Guinness. We booked a treatment in the spa section of the hotel along with afternoon tea, very good price for what you get, wouldnt say its a spa you would be pleased to take a bunch of you to relax, hottub was ok, sauna and steam room are past their best, the one bonus is, if your brave you can take advantage of a swim in the famous matlock lido, that was an amazing experience , bloody cold but glad we had a go. I would probably stay there again as its in a great location as a base if you want to visit the peaks." The room was spotless and exactly as we expected. Twin room with en suite shower and bath, situated above a tea room in Bonsall (approx. 5 minute drive from Matlock Bath). Decor was fresh and clean, bed warm and comfy and clothes storage more than adequate. Hospitality tray with hot drinks and biscuits and a selection of toiletries. The breakfast was outstanding.
