Booked as a getaway to celebrate my wife's Birthday. Arrived late but the Landlady was there to greet us (having called previously to check what time we were expecting to arrive). We'd been upgraded into a large and very comfortable room, containing a super queen bed (we'd given no pre-warning of the reasons for our weekend away). We had a really pleasant stay with a good choice of offerings for breakfast, all of which were well cooked and presented.

First off, Sue (the owner) is just the best! I phoned in advance and asked a couple of favours of her, to put a couple of gifts in the room to surprise my girlfriend. We had a 4 night stay to celebrate my birthday. What a beautiful place the Burtonstone inn is. A moden pub with 8 letting rooms. All the rooms are 1st floor with ensuite. Some have extra beds for kids to share. All are well thought out with nice modern touches. Water , tea, coffee, etc. Hair drier , tv and free wifi. Are all provided. A very traditional bed and breakfast guest house. The room was excellent with probably the best hotel bed for comfort I have ever stayed in. It was immaculately clean. Property lovely, high standard interior. Staff on reception felt a little awkward as if on guard sat at a desk near the stairs but were always friendly. Access was a little difficult due to cars parked around the entrance to the car park. I guess to avoid the additional charge per night extra charge which we paid. Upon leaving our car was covered in tree sap but it will wash off. We stayed for 4 days and no one came into our room to empty our bins, replenish toiletries or restock the hot drink...

Always been impressed by the personal service by the owners. Rooms are spacious, very clean, beautifully decorated. Beds are extremely comfortable. Breakfast is fabulous. Cannot fault any of it and it's our 3rd stay. A leisurely stroll to the city centre and perfect for many attractions and restaurants. Highly recommended in every aspect. A bonus in having their own car park too. Staff are all very helpful and polite and nothing is ever at trouble. Looking forward to our next stay.

We just did a weekend trip to Leeds and stumbled across this gem on hotel.com. It was the best stay away we have ever had in the UK! The owners were so kind and welcoming, they really do make you feel like you are a member of the family.
