Ideal if you're travelling by train..
Good hotel for a short stay. Near to St Charles station and has all the basics covered - comfortable bed, good shower and decent breakfast. Very friendly, multi-lingual staff.

It’s a basic accommodation right beside the train station. It’s not especially good or attractive, but it’s absolutely adequate. It is very clean, if a little tired, and I think it’s very secure with welcoming staff, and well run. As mentioned elsewhere the AC system is a real problem, but since it was October I could open the window - although that meant a lot of sound coming in from the train station. If you need a quick stop near the station, totally fine. If staying longer in Marseille, look further.

Great stay
So close to the train station, room was great, very quiet, nice breakfast. Staff were great especially MicKail on reception. We enjoyed our stay. Would definitely recommend.

Convenient for access to station
The hotel was adequate for what we required. We just needed to sleep prior to catching an early morning train from St Charles. The hotels proximity to the station was great. It was only about a 3-5 min walk to the station which was ideal at 530 am. Apart from that the hotel room felt quite dated. I would highly recommend for a short stay especially if one has luggage and requires close access to the train station.

Clean, Mickeal was great! There was a mistake and they billed us although we prepaid! They fixed it up right away! Reception check in took awhile but Mickeal’s cheery disposition made up for it.

It was very close to the train station. That was very convenient especially since we had an early flight out. I understand charging us for extra towels. It’s a budget hotel. But did we really have to bring our own trash out at check out? We were going to be charged extra if we didn’t.

Great value and convenient location
Spent two nights here in the Aparthotel Adagio near Saint Charles station. Perfect location for me and walkable to Marseille Port. The staff was helpful and friendly. I was a bit nervous about the area based on reviews I’d read but was happily surprised. I didn’t feel unsafe walking around, even at night, or uncomfortable at any time. The room was comfortable, clean and well equipped for my needs. I loved that the bathroom had a tub! The trains were right outside my window and could only hear them or the announcements when the window was open. I slept soundly and would definitely stay here again.

A weeks stay in Marseille
The Aparthotel Adagio next to Marseille Saint Charles train station is in a great location if you need to get around the city or explore the surrounding areas. Upon arrival the staff were very professional and helped us settle in. Disappointingly our room was clearly in need of some maintenance, that was beyond the usual maid-service provided. Whilst tables, chairs, beds, fridges, kitchen utensils, TV were all of a good standard, it was clear that walls, carpets, tiles, doors were not good at all. This meant that the room felt dirty and not of an acceptable standard. Having carpets doesn't seem a logical approach in terms of the type of room & the volume of people who pass through the hotel. There were no problems with noise at all despite being a large hotel in right opposite the train station. Therefore, it was possible to get a good nights rest. Maybe this hotel is at the end of its life-cycle before it needs the rooms renovating sometime soon?

Comfortable apartment near station
Arrived late - after eleven at night -- train from Milan delayed en route - but warmly welcomed. Unfortunately due to French railway strike had to be up early to catch 0645 Flixbus to Barcelona. Would not hesitate to use this again - a hopefully with more time to enjoy it !!!

So Noisy
Accommodation fine and staff so friendly but we hadn't realised how close it was to the station from the map. You have to keep the room windows closed all the time because you overlook the station which has loud announcements from early morning to late night, probably 20 hours a day !! Would not recommend it to others because of this.

We didn't have enough towels, have to call and complain, the room was not clean all week while I was there , no bed sheets were changed all week , I call and was told since since am staying a week , it was not part of my options, unless I pay to get the services .

The hotel claims that there are two double beds in the room, yet there is only one bed and another one is actually a sofa bed in the living room. Hotels.com should take actions to change their descriptions otherwise this is really a scam!

Very convenient location, right next to Gare de Marseille, this was the reason we chose this hotel and it was perfect for that purpose! However, this part of town felt not very safe. That said, the security at the front desk seemed ok, everyone going in and out needed to buzz in via front desk. There was a fast food smell coming through the vents when we got back to the hotel after dinner, and we couldn't work out how to get rid of it, other than open the window (facing the street), but as mentioned before, we couldn't leave the window open all night because security felt like it potentially could have been a problem. Also, it's not very quiet, because of the announcements coming from Gare de Marseille.

The hotel is out of date; old smelly dark carpet and the linen (bed and towels) were old. The bathroom was renovated and nice. The hotel staff was excellent. Very accommodating to the best of their ability with the supplied facility. Good price but I would pay 20 euro more and go to a better place in hindsight

Near to station but very seedy area
Useful to have a room so close to the station when carrying luggage, but was in a very seedy area of town, and I would not have liked to be walking outside at night. Rooms very tired.
