"We loved this place as soon as we set our eyes on it, both from the outside and the inside. Plenty of space in all rooms and everything else that you'd need, from wood to make a fire to a few biscuits and tea. Spotlessly clean and tidy. Lovely grounds too. Not too far from the hills for walking or visiting nearby villages and towns. Plenty of local walks too. The pub up the road, The Butchers Arms serves excellent food as well as drinks. All in all, an excellent place to stay. Thank you. "

"This is a beautiful house in a picturesque village surrounded by stunning countryside. The house is really well equipped and comfortable with plenty of space for everyone. We did country walks from the house on both days we were there and the scenery was spectacular - there is so much to explore and enjoy in this area. I would thoroughly recommend this property and hope we might return there in the future."

"I booked this place for a little hendo celebration. The house was a perfect home from home with everything you could possibly need. "The property was immaculate and well equipped. The host, Jane was extremely friendly and helpful. A quiet peaceful spot with chickens and sheep wondering around on the common land outside the enclosed garden. My only criticism is that the staircase was steep and difficult for me but it didn’t spoil our stay. I shall recommend to friends."

"The property owners were great and made sure our arrival was welcoming with great info and welcome pack. The property is a unique original cottage with hone comforts and incredible view. There are some great walks and lots of activities nearby and a visit to ye older ferrie inn is a must. As with anywhere in this area to get the most you have to prepared to be a bit active and there are a few steps required to get down to the cottage but definitely worthwhile. Recommended for chilled out stay in...

"We had a lovely stay here. Stunning views from the cottage and was all very cosy and well-equipped. Great walks nearby and a pub within walking distance. We used the fire in the living room but it doesn't draw very well, so the room got very smoky (but might be my fire-making skills not being up to scratch!). Not the easiest to get to, especially if you have a large car. You'll need the directions, as it's really tucked away."

"Locks cottage is perfect for a family get together. It has a great games room with a multi function pool/table tennis/shuffle board table and many indoor and outdoor games to keep children of all ages happy. There is a lovely sitting area for the adults to enjoy and the garden is lovely. Lots of stairs and mind your head on the beams. All in all we would definitely rent it again and are glad we rented an SUV as the track to cottage was challenging."

"Fantastic place to stay, unwind and be at one with nature! Not quite in the middle of nowhere but close enough. There are shops locally but we took what we needed for our stay so we could get away from everything. We ditched the car and walked everywhere. The forest is on your doorstep and a nature reserve just over the road.. Ideal place if you have dogs, enjoy walking and want to get away from daily life, just be aware of the hills. "A really lovely cosy well equipped cottage in a lovely village. Local dog friendly pub which did great food. Great base for exploring the area."

"The property was tired & grubby & not beautiful as described. There were 2 very full large builders skips right in front of the property making sitting out in the tiny courtyard quite an unpleasant experience. In the morning there was no hot water to the property. No tea towels for drying crockery."

"Overall the property was in a great location.Flat was everything that you needed. Pity however that it was missing just a few little touches. A small bottle of milk would not have gone amiss. No salt and pepper. The TV remote control needs to be replaced. Control buttons not working . Could not get any BBC channels on free view . All small problems . The entry instructions were great and very clear. "
