Spontan gebucht, bezahlbar, aber uncharmant ! Zimmer mit Blick auf das Wasser/Hafen, Betten bequem, geräumig.

Definitely 4/5 stars

Posted 21-Oct-2016
Pros: centrally-located; river views; tech-ready; clean, comfortable room; high-end finishes; fridge/coffee maker in room; free breakfast; 24-hr gym
Cons: had problems with 2 of 3 key-cards becoming de-magnetized and not working; parking was across the street, rather than adjacent to the hotel
Location: heart of quaint old Riverhead; next to aquarium; river-front walking/biking paths; many local shops, eateries; short drive to outlet shopping
we stayed just for one night to attend a funeral in town, so our minds were on other things. I chose the hotel for convenience/price, and we weren't prepared to enjoy the experience as much as we did. there's free wi-fi access throughout, no passwords required, free super-fast computers available for free in the lobby, and more device ports/hook-ups in the room than the 3 of us could use. The room was luxe, almost european, with high-end finishes. our staff interaction was limited to check-in.out, but we had no complaints. the free continental breakfast included eggs, sausages, pancakes, oatmeal, etc. I didn't try it, but our travelling companion said that the quality/taste of the food was first-rate. the hotel has a pool, and the aquarium is directly next door, both great features for families with small kids. the hotel's in the heart of the historic down-town Riverhead, and we passed a lot of cute local-owned shops and restaurants on our way in and leaving. I wish we'd had time to stop and see more. I highly recommend an off-menu burger at "Cliff's Rendezvous" bar/restaurant a block away.

Shabby & waaay overpriced.

Posted 12-Sep-2016
Pros: Nice view, nice staff. The pool was fine. The food at the poolside grill was, like the room, overpriced and barely average.
Cons: Windows that open to let in some fresh air. Clean the place up, increase the size of the eating area and provide better quality fresh food.
Location: Shabby, run-down, overpriced aquarium with half the exhibits closed. We were told there would be a sea lion show and there wasn't.
The staff was very friendly and helpful but for $400/per night it was DEFINITELY NOT WORTH IT. It was more like a $75-100 night hotel. The room was decorated nicely but had black mold not the ceiling and filthy carpeting. You couldn't open the window (even though we had a lovely view of a river and a marina) and the AC unit had no fresh air setting, so IT just recycled the same stale, damp air around, over and over. No wonder there was mold on the ceiling! And the bedding and furniture upholstery felt damp all the time. The lobby furniture was shabby and dirty, because people were sitting and eating breakfast all over it. The breakfast food was nothing special, just the usual old stuff you'd find in Red Roof Inn or a La Quinta. For $400 per night, one expects something exceptional, and this was at best only average.

Close to the wedding we attended.

Posted 30-Aug-2016
Pros: Convenience, cleanliness, very friendly , helpful staff.
Cons: We were happy as is.
Location: The Aquarium is right next door.
Only there overnight but very comfortable bed and the "suite" set up was great if one wanted to stay up longer than one's spouse.

Nice hotel close to town

Posted 29-Aug-2016
Pros: Close proximity to Splish Splash, easy access to everything Riverhead offers, free breakfast buffet was good.
Cons: Inside restaurant and bar needs to be restructured
Well kept hotel with an indoor and outdoor pool, walking distance to entire town and right next door to LI Aquarium. Very nice staff with a nice outdoor bar/restaurant. Quiet, convenient and clean!

Great Expirence

Posted 01-Aug-2016
Pros: The best feature of the hotel, was the attentive and knowledgeable staff.
Cons: Not much, if anything.
Location: They were not kidding when they said you were in walking distance to the Long Island Aquarium, it was about 50 yards. We also drove to Montauk Point.
Short travel times to area attractions and shopping.

Love this hotel.

We received excellent service from check in to check out. The staff was friendly and professional. I am picky about hotels and can't think of a single thing to change. We even looked up Hyatt Places in other locations for future trips.
