We stayed two nights at the Bear in September and enjoyed it immensely. This is a ancient Coaching Inn and so layout is a little quirky. But the room was a good size and extremely comfortable. Large four poster bed, comfortable armchair, sufficient hanging space, a well appointed en suite and tea making facilities, made for a great stay. Breakfast was individually made and well cooked. We also are in the bar late on Sunday and the roast (topside of beef and all trimmings) was outstanding....

Great staff, facilities where good, breakfast was nice, room was tidy, what else could you ask for.

Second visit. Friendly staff. Convenient for visiting family in Cardiff. Quiet location.

Always a wonderful place to stay in South Wales.

My first time staying here and I was very impressed, the venue itself is beautiful, the whole place including the grounds were very clean and tidy, the decor of the place was lovely and very imaginative. My room was fantastic, very large, clean and had all the facilities. Dinner and breakfast were just perfect. I cant fault the place in any way, the staff were all very polite, perfect.

3 Adults one child and a dog, three nights, very tight budget. I did not fancy camping as I didn't want to get wet and cold, my knees demand a high bed and my bladder wants a loo...well, when it wants a loo! Hotel was clean and welcoming. First impression in foyer is bright and modern. Room a little dated but personally I don’t care about that at all so long as it’s clean, which it was. I appreciated being able to open the window, a good shower with towels that actually fit around an adult, plenty tv channels and good supply of tea/coffee and biscuits. Sometimes thats just what you want when in a hotel for an evening! Staff were helpful and friendly. I wouldn’t hesitate to return or recommend.

Modern hotel on the outskirts of Cardiff next to a lake and a retail park. Rooms were basic but clean and the staff were polite and helpful. Good pub quality food and fair selection of drinks. Free parking for guests. Very good value for money and for what we required, a cheap overnight stopover, it was ideal.

Really lovely stay for 3 nights. Gorgeous room and bathroom, great friendly staff and good food. Very good value. Train station right across the road. Would definitely stay again.

This B&B/restaurant is fantastic and I can not fault it at all! The rooms are spacious, clean,warm and comfortable with plenty of free tea/coffee. This was our second stay at the property. We received a warm welcome as usual and checked into our spacious family room. The hotel is clean but a little tired in places. We're happy to see that they are undertaking a refurbishment and look forward to seeing the results next year. The location is outstanding; a short walk from the beach and high street. Stopped here for one night to see family in the local area and watch rugby match. Rooms nice, comfortable, various sizes and all double rooms. All en-suite bathrooms with baths in some with shower over and the smaller rooms with wall in shower only. Great variety of tea types in each room and fresh milk in flask provided. The Hotel is a 15 century house which has been sympathetically restored retaining many of the original features. The bedrooms in the main house were charming, very clean with a very fresh en suite and lovely white bed linen and towels. Fantastic Place to stay and the rooms are so clean. You even have a lovey restaurant and bar that serves tapas. Will come again soon.

A little off the beaten track but accommodation was excellent. All staff were friendly and courteous. Room was spacious with a great shower. Pub below/next door had a good selection of real ales.

Me, my partner and daughter loved this place so much! Such an attentive host and the breakfast was lovely. Room was gorgeous and so quiet, perfect place to rest our heads. Would recommend to everyone
