Aysgarth Falls Hotel

Aysgarth Falls Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"We just stayed four nights at this hotel. We enjoyed the location of the property—not to far from Leyburn, Hawes, or Grassington. Good location for short and long walks or hikes. You can walk to the falls from the hotel, and there are footpaths if you want to walk to all three falls. That was fun. Just a quick drive to visit Bolton Castle—worth the visit. We enjoyed the breakfasts—nice selection of pastries, cereals and fruit. And, the selection of hot items on the breakfast menu was good, as well. We had dinner there on three nights of our stay—we were very happy with everything we ordered. Our room was clean, and a very nice size. The bed was comfortable. The bar had a nice selection of beer, cocktails, and wine. It was a nice place to meet other people during our stay. All of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay here again."

"Room was clean though it had a slight smell. Parking was rough. They had a big lot but there was not room for parking our rental so we had to wait for someone to leave when we parked. It was perfect for our needs I would stay again."

Fox & Hounds Inn

Fox & Hounds Inn

10/10 Excellent
"A great find in the Yorkshire Dales. Not far from Leyburn and Hawes, set in a quiet little village with clean rooms and good showers, and they've got dog-friendly rooms. A highlight is the food--they source the meat and sausage from a local butcher, so I definitely recommend taking your dinner with with room. (There isn't anywhere else to eat nearby anyway.) They have a great selection of drinks at the bar, which was full of friendly locals. I appreciate B&Bs/inns run by hosts rather than big chain hotels, so this was"

"This was the perfect place to call home for the week we stayed and explored Yorkshire. Excellent food, perfect location, cozy. The staff were lovely. AND, it was Alf Wight’s (James Herriott’s) favorite spot in Thirsk. We couldn’t have liked it better!"
