"No air conditioning but the staff was able to get us a fan which helped a lot. It’s an older building but fits the general vibe of the town. Overall, was fine for our stay in Orta."

"Excellent hot breakfast, old building but modernized, cost very reasonable, very helpful management was able to have some English speaking channels added to my tv, wow. There’s a restaurant on site as well. Being right next to the train station is a big plus, but trains are infrequent and there’s no elevator or escalator. And no direct service to the airport or to Milan. There’s not much to see in the town itself but it’s very close to Arona by train (four minutes). From Arona you can get...

Good hotel, large clean room with small balcony. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice. Plenty of parking space including a large underground garage. On our visit internet speed was quite slow. Overall very good value!

Loved my stay here, dinner in restaurant was amazing and breakfast outstanding. Staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. Even gave us a lift to train station so we could eat breakfast. Outstanding.

We have just returned from a week at the Antico Verbana apartments and can thoroughy recommend them. The staff on reception are pleasant and respond to your requests quickly. We arrived at 7pm in the evening so as information on the website says there were no staff on duty, but the envelope with our keys to the apartment were on the reception desk waiting for us.
As other guests have said, there is a restaurant which is very good but this is not always available due to private functions. ...

This was our sixth stay at the Bussola as Orta is somewhere we visit regularly. For the first time in a few visits we ate here too. We had forgotten how good the food is and having dinner and on the terrace overlooking the lake is the perfect location to enjoy it. The menu was different on each of the two nights with enough choice for most people. The only minor criticism from last time, paying for WiFi, has now been resolved and it’s free like most hotels. It’s only a matter of time until our...

Great location in Angera for this 3 star hotel. Staff were extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming and it felt like a family-run establishment. It was a little rough around the edges in places (e.g. minibar fridges could do with a good clean), but overall a very pleasant stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Angera!

We had a lovely stay here and had the buffet breakfast in the morning, extremely central and only a 10 minute walk from the port and the train station. Felt like a very cosy and safe place, even had some board games available which we played

Absolutely beautiful newly renovated property! Decor and service were top quality. We had a small issue with our shower and the host sorted it immediately and efficiently. Lovely to be able to visit the wine cellar next door and taste the local produce. Highly recommended. The photos on the listing don’t do it justice at all. Recommend nearby pizza place called Fluke for dinner too. Walking distance to it.

I was extremely satisfied with everything—the location, cleanliness, friendliness of the staff, and the delicious breakfast. I would definitely stay at this hotel again when I return to this beautiful town.

We stayed at Sirio Hotel for a few days. The hotel is at Dormelletto, which is near to Arona on Lake Maggiore. The hotel is lovely and we were given a room which had a lake view. The room had a small outside terrace area which had plants on each side giving privacy from the rooms either side. The room was a good size with a comfy bed and a private bathroom. The hotel is family run and all the staff were very helpful. We don't speak Italian, but this wasn't a problem. We were given lots of useful...

went out to stresa for my birthday as had never been for a short break. easily reached by alibus or train to stresa itself. great location, so beautiful loads to see and do. boats so easily available to taxi you about to other resorts on lake but so glad to of stayed in stresa.
with the lake and views as far as you can see and the alps in distance lit up by the sun when it was out there nothing to do buy chill out, explore and soak up the scenery with lots of food and drink.

The best area to stay in Legro is directly within the village centre, particularly near Piazza Stazione, for convenient access and a pleasant experience.
This area is the heart of Legro, known for its unique painted houses that depict scenes from famous films, earning it the nickname "The Painted Village". The main square, Piazza Stazione, is where you'll find the train station, making arrivals and departures straightforward. The village is compact and easily explored on foot, with a few local shops and eateries dotted along the main streets.
Couples will find Legro village itself a delightful place to stay. The artistic murals provide a unique backdrop for strolls, and the quiet pace of village life is ideal for a relaxing getaway. You can enjoy local Piedmontese cuisine in one of the village's restaurants and take leisurely walks through the surrounding countryside.
For those looking to explore the wider Piedmont region, staying near Piazza Stazione offers excellent connectivity.
When is the best time to go to Legro?
The best time to visit Legro is during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months for pleasant weather and fewer crowds.
Spring in Legro sees the countryside burst into bloom, making it ideal for exploring the rolling hills and vineyards. The temperatures are mild, great for outdoor activities like cycling or walking through the picturesque landscapes. You'll find fewer visitors compared to the peak summer months, allowing for a more relaxed experience at local wineries and trattorias. This period is particularly good for couples seeking a romantic getaway with scenic drives and intimate dining.
Autumn offers a different kind of beauty, with the vineyards transforming into golden and russet hues. This is harvest season, so you can often experience local festivals celebrating grapes and truffles. The weather remains comfortable for touring and dining al fresco.
