Find the Best Leeming Bar Bed and Breakfast

"We asked for a late check out and even though the hotel was absolutely empty - (we were the only two people at breakfast in a room that could seat 100) the hotel still denied a late checkout (personally I think 11am checkout is too early) so we were charged an extra £20 for a 12pm checkout. When the room costs £500 per night this is totally outrageous. The hotel was empty so it would have been a nice gesture to offer a 1pm checkout given at most high end hotels 12pm is standard. Very disappointing. Also in the restaurant they put a main course on the bill that we had ordered but they had accidentally not cooked so we cancelled it but it was still on the bill and was subsequently removed when I mentioned it upon paying. The staff are excellent. The spa is amazing but they cut off spa treatments at 4.45pm for last 1hr service - we only just made it and my service started a few minutes late and finished a few minutes early and when the therapist left the room to give me a moment to get on the bed she was gone for 5 minutes meaning my massage was around 50 minutes but charged as an hour. The sheets are a little low quality compared to other hotels of this caliber but the rooms are beautiful and spacious. The views from the rooms are also lovely. The room service menu is unbelievably limited, almost nothing on it but the breakfast served in the main hotel restaurant is exceptional with a special nod to the crème brule porridge."

"Everything about The George was very good but it is obviously in the midst of much needed renovations. I felt very sad because I grew up in the area and it was always such a popular hotel. However, we enjoyed our stay and the staff were all very helpful. Dinner was good, despite having to wait quite a long time for it. Good luck to the owners for the future and hope that the renovations go well."

"Nice room but outside balcony was covered in cobwebs and leaves. Couldn't find a way to turn the heating down and was way too warm in the room. Only one balcony door would open "

"Parking enough for 12 spaces only. Parking a premium in the area. Breakfast was of decent standard. The room was quite large and the double bed was comfortable. Ran out of coke and lemonade at the bar. "

"Second stay at the Golden Fleece. Ideal location with free/ secure parking. Staff are friendly. Only criticism is that the rooms are starting to get a little tired."

"Great stay in a great pub/inn in a lovely village. Originally we were looking for somewhere near York and picked this place at random – so got lucky. Decent-sized, comfortable room, the beer 'proper' Yorkshire, and the food was excellent throughout – we could have eaten almost amything on the quite extensive menu. (Watch out for some huge portions, though!) But above all, the staff were great, Georgie and the team, Joe, Katie, Simon, a special shout-out for Debbie (she knows why), and for all the others I've missed out. The hotel sits right on the roundabout, directly over the outside and our room at the front of the hotel was quite noisy. It didn't bother us, but consider asking for a back room if it's an issue. On the other hand, we woke up each morning to a cuckoo calling, which is pretty special."
