"Power point in room 472 didn't work near lamp. Lovely comfortable beds. Excellent breakfast. Big complaint about last night's transfer shuttle. 22.09.2026. Phoned hotel to let them know we needed picking up from terminal 2 H stop. 30 minutes later still no bus. Phoned again and waited another 25 minutes. Still no bus, Phoned again and bus arrived as I was talking on phone. Never had any issues with transfer before. Disappointing."

"Check in was good friendly and helpful. On 1st impression the room was good. However after coming back from dinner and drinks we noticed a smell of drains in the bathroom. We left it for a while but when the smell didn't go we informed reception. Within 15 minutes we were being helped to move rooms. 2nd room was much better no horrid smell"

"Staff were excellent - super friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean and convenient and is next door to a leisure centre (guests get a cheap rate to use the facilities). Recommend!"

"I have stayed at this hotel over 5 times under 2 different owners. The spa is always impressive however Champneys now charge extra for residents’ access per day. This results in a stampede at 3pm for guests wanting to (rightly) get their money’s worth. It really detracts from the ability to relax. The spa bar area could do with a little TLC: walls marked; carpets covered in crumbs; cobwebs on the ceiling alcoves; plastic champagne flutes!!! The bed was comfortable and the bedroom spacious. They no longer provide Buxton water however :( Breakfast was ok. The buffet section has been reduced and we couldn’t see any pastries. The cooked part was ok. Poached eggs were completely cooked through but not hot. The staff were great and the breakfast team in particular seemed more professional than previous visits. They were kind and courteous and efficient. My complaints are small but added together give an impression of tightness on the part of the hotel. Lastly, it’s the only hotel I have ever been to where the room is never ready early!"
