"An Oasis just 80 kms from Tokyo! The hotel scenery envelopes you in lush trees, waterfalls, and rocks. What a delight! The two different Onsen are equally spectacular, but my favorite was the one with the waterfall. Yes, it is on the pricier end, but if you can make it work in your budget, I HIGHLY recommend this hotel. Staff are all friendly and helpful and the rooms are spacious. We had 3 people, so one of us had to “rough it”on a futon. So, three western beds would have been my first preference! Small detail however, as we had a magnificent time."
"The at thing about this hotel is location. There is an extensive breakfast and the staff are very kind and helpful.
The rooms are spacious and the one we got had a Japanese authentic dinning area.
The Onsen was okay, the great thing was the private option which is not as common in Japan.
However, the place is quite dated and is begging for an upgrade…this is felt all through your the facility…
Thank you to the staff for their kindness!"
""While Hakone Gora Karaku is architecturally exquisite and offers a truly unique stay, the service model feels surprisingly hands-off. The inability to call the hotel directly suggests an intentional shift away from concierge support, which may not suit every traveler’s needs.""
"This hotel was top notch! The room was spacious and comfortable, and the kaiseke dinner and breakfast were amazing. The staff were super friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. We loved the private onsen on our balcony. It was very relaxing as we could see and hear the nearby stream. We'd definitely stay here again the next time we're in the area."
"Great place to stay while visiting as its a 5 min walk to their shopping street and train station, and the ryokan was very spacious compared to others I stayed in. The in room meals were excellent as was the staff service. And the onsens comfortably spacious as well. The view from the balcony was so relaxing and refreshing that I spent as much time there as possible. I would definitely stay there again."
"Dinner and breakfast were fresh and delicious! There were many parts of it that we got to try and experience which was a lot of fun.
The private onsen in our room and the one that is available to use was super relaxing and soothing after a long day of travel. The room was spacious and very cozy as well."
"If you are going to Hakone, you should stay, and stay at the Fujiya Hotel for at least two nights. This place is magical, and the staff are unbelievably attentive and kind. The onsen is the definition of relaxing and has amazing views. The massage and facial were amazing. The western breakfast was so good, and the dinner at the restaurants in the hotel is worth the price for the experience. Don’t miss your opportunity to stay here if you pass through Hakone!"
"We had an amazing stay and our only regret was that we only stayed one night. Our room was large, the beds comfortable and the bathroom new and efficient. The overall properties and amenities were well above what we had expected. Stay at least 2 nights and enjoy both a wonderful property and beautiful area. "
