There was peeling wallpaper and lamp shades that were coming apart. The shower room was tiny with dirty looking grout and looked like something in a third world country. We were told we didn't have breakfast included, which I know I booked. The staff said they could not add breakfast for us and said they'd check availability the next day, but never got back to us. There are no shops or restaurants near the hotel, and the bus stop is located up a steep hill. A shuttle brought us to the hotel with our luggage but didn't leave early enough for us to make our train ride when we were leaving. Pushing our luggage uphill was no joke! The onsen was the saving grace. It was wonderful with great amenities and yukata available in different sizes. We had a half Japanese and half continental room for 3, located in the annex, and it was pretty spacious. The staff was absolutely fantastic throughout our stay and we loved the dinner and breakfast.
