Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in La Foce?
The best area to stay in La Foce is within the estate itself, specifically around the main Villa and the surrounding farmhouses.

The La Foce estate is a private property known for its exquisite gardens, which are a major attraction. Staying directly on the estate offers unparalleled access to these gardens and the historic Villa. The accommodation options are typically restored farmhouses and villas, offering a blend of historic charm and modern comforts, often with private pools and stunning views of the Orcia Valley.

Couples looking for a romantic and secluded escape will find the estate ideal. The quiet setting, beautiful landscapes, and opportunities for private garden tours create a truly special experience. There are also cooking classes available on the estate, adding to the romantic and cultural appeal.

Families will also appreciate the space and amenities offered by the larger farmhouses on the estate. With multiple bedrooms, living areas, and private outdoor spaces, including pools, there's plenty of room for everyone.
When is the best time to go to La Foce?
The best time to visit La Foce is during the shoulder seasons of May, June, September, and early October.

For those who enjoy gardening and experiencing the full bloom, late spring, particularly May and early June, is truly special. The renowned gardens of La Foce are at their most spectacular, showcasing a riot of colours and scents. This is superb for couples or solo travellers looking for a tranquil and visually stunning retreat.

If you're keen on outdoor pursuits like hiking or cycling through the Tuscan and Umbrian countryside, early autumn (September and early October) is superb. The air is crisp, the landscape is beautiful with autumnal colours, and the temperatures are agreeable for active exploration.
