The hotel is very new and it shows, with everything being in great condition. Very comfortable mattress, nice big bath in the room (so big it takes 30 minutes to fill), and the rooms are fairly large for a Japanese hotel. Breakfast was good quality but the selection is not huge, however we were happy with it. The staff were always incredibly kind, attentive, and made sure everything went smoothly during my stay. The room was spacious and comfortable, which is rare in Japan where most hotels have very small rooms. For the price I paid, it was amazing value! The room was very spacious, with three separate beds and a separate comfortable living area. On arrival, we were pleasantly surprised to find complimentary coffee, tea, cold drinks, and treats. There was plenty of room for luggage, making our stay even more comfortable. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the bathroom and shower were excellent. The hotel even decorated a bed for a birthday before our arrival, which was a wonderful, thoughtful touch provided free of charge. The hotel also features a lovely onsen downstairs, which was often quiet and a relaxing way to end our days. The staff were friendly, helpful, and very responsive both in person and via Hotels.ca before and during our stay. The location was ideal. It was walkable to Kyoto Station as well as to nearby shopping and dining areas. Despite being so central, the hotel was peaceful and quiet, ensuring a great night’s sleep. Overall, Yukon Kyoto Shijo is a great new hotel offering excellent service, spacious and clean rooms, and a perfect location.
