It is really uncomfortable to sleep on. Lastly, 15mins+ walk to the kawaramachi station. Amazing. The facilities are second to none, one of the most beautiful hotel’s I have ever stayed in. It captures the beauty of traditional Japanese living exceptionally. I would 100% recommend anyone stay at Toka. Wonderful service and pretty good location. My hot tip would be to hire a bicycle (there is a small business up the road). The location of Toka is half way between Downtown Kyoto and Kyoto Station. Having a bike just makes getting to either location much quicker and easier. There is a local line train station within a 5 minute walking distance, so if you aren’t confident on the bike - this is useful too. Overall, if you seek preference over a beautiful stay rather than perfect location, this is the place for you! Tatami flooring was comfortable and paper window covers atmospheric.The overall look of the room was really tidy and cozy. The staff was friendly and they helped us a lot whether it was about great breakfast place or a bike rental. I would also like to thank them for the help with a same day table reservation to a one particular Michelin star restaurant. The couple sitting next to us was telling how hard it was to book a table even weeks ahead... well sometimes you're just blessed with a help :).
