Such a special stay in a wonderful location. The blend of contemporary and traditional design and living has been done well. We didn’t eat at the hotel but grabbed breakfast from the Lawson just across from the property. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The highlight of the stay was the Maiko performance.

We had an incredible stay at Gion Mizen Furumonzen and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Everything was perfect across the board. The location is ideal. It is situated in a quiet, peaceful area, yet it is only a short walking distance to the train station and the main streets for shopping and dining. It is the perfect balance of convenience and tranquility. The room itself was spacious and super clean. The bathroom was the highlight of our stay, as the shower and bathtub setup is amazing. They also provide a large selection of thoughtful, high-quality toiletries. Additionally, the air conditioning worked perfectly, which made for a very comfortable stay. The service was excellent, and the staff was incredibly friendly. We also appreciated the convenience of having a 24-hour laundry facility right across the street, and the hotel even provided us with free detergent pods, which was a huge help. We would absolutely stay here again!

There is a 24-hour convenience store and coin laundry opposite the hotel, both well within a minute walk. The washer and dryer are well maintained and clean by the owner of the laundromat. Hotel is nicely located, walking distance to transport and downtown Gion.

We wanted to book somewhere comfortable at the start of our trip knowing we’d be tired after 24 hours of travel and this was perfect. Location wise, we could walk to most of the places we wanted to see, the team were so friendly, accommodating and helpful and the room itself was stunning and so comfortable with tons of storage. Cosy and convenient hotel with friendly staff

It’s a cosy hotel to stay in Kyoto which is near to Yasaka Shrine, Nishiki Market, shopping areas and train stations. Staff are friendly and speak good English. Will definitely stay here again when I come back to Kyoto.

Small but awesome inn within walking distance of main Gion shopping street. Super nice staff and friendly bartender. Room and incredible wet room shower/ bath room and separate ultra high end toilet that was worth the stay by itself. Nice and quiet.
