It’s a cute little place. Room is a little small for 2 people but it’s to be expected in Japan. Love that it’s not too far of a walk from the station and lots of good late night places to grab some food.
Super nice staff especially the young woman who helped me (with the dinner provided by the next accommodation), option to leave the suitcases if you're not heading on immediately and a public bath (which we didn't manage to use as we had a cold at the time). The room was nice but on the smaller side which is typical for Japan.
The only downside was that we only had a small window with milky glass so you could not see anything outside and it facing the street in a way that it got super loud when it was open. We also had to get additional cushions as the ones we had were quite flat but the staff (again they are probate best thing about the hotel as they were super friendly) happily gave us extra pillows when asked.
This place was as advertised. Very comfortable and convenient to multiple train and bus stations for easy transport to many attractions. The breakfast was excellent and the staff was very friendly.
Hop Inn was affordable and very clean. Location was wonderful. The Nishiki market was only a few stops away on the city bus as well as Kyoto station. The Indian restaurant next door was wonderful as well as the udon/Ramen shop 100m away. Overall great!
Hop Inn is in a nice, quiet spot but still super close to the train and bus stations. Our room was really spacious and had a cute balcony that was perfect for stargazing and just chilling out at night. I loved that the toilet, powder room, and bath were all in separate spaces. There’s tons to do around here, and it's an easy walk to Nishiki Market and the shopping malls.
Nice location, beautiful area to walk around and lots of places to eat in the area but still fairly quiet. Room was very small which we expected. But it was challenging to get in and out of our suitcases. Everyone was so helpful and patient for our first night in Japan!
The room and bathroom was on the larger side (by japan standards, from what I’ve seen). The twin bed in tatami room was actually two separate beds separated by a gap. Perhaps this was already specified, and we just missed that!
Breakfast is buffet style and a separate charge (I think around 1000 yen) alternating between western and Japanese style.
All in all, great value and quality stay at a convenient location.
We had a great stay at Hopp Inn Kyoto. The hotel is modern, clean, and very comfortable, with thoughtfully designed rooms that made our stay easy and relaxing. The location is excellent—close to public transportation and within walking distance of many shops and restaurants, making it a perfect base for exploring Kyoto. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always welcoming us with warmth and great recommendations. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kyoto.
My mom and I loved our stay! Rooms were clean; beds were comfortable; plenty of amenities and things to do in the surrounding area. Staff was always present and cordial.
Hotel was very convenient to transportation and restaurants. Hotel was clean and smell good. Towels are very clean even after 3 days of use. I will recommend this hotel to my friends.thsnk you very much.
Property was clean, public bath house was amazing and clean, staff were super friendly and accommodating. I would come back again next time I'm in Kyoto
Price was low. Room was small but comfortable and everything I needed. Almost booked somewhere else but this place had an onsen and was only slightly more. I'm glad I stayed here, worth the extra cost. Breakfast was good! I would easily stay here again!!
We loved the location and the rooms were super clean
Loved the extra things we could take in the foyer as in bath salts tea and coffee 👌
Rooms were rather tight and the pillows were rock hard but other than it was excellent. We spent 4 nights there

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Aircon unit had a bad smell when turned on so we didnt use it. The fridge has a very noisy buzz sometimes. Since the room is very small, these problems made it hot and noisy and we had trouble sleeping.
On the plus side, its in a good location and the onsen was a bonus. Staff were friendly and could communicate in english
We found that the rooms were very nice and the location of the hotel was convenient. The only blemish is that there weren't enough washing machines and the dryer did not dry clothes even after running it for 3 cycles.
This hotel highly exceeded our expectations. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. Everything was perfect, the service we received was superb, there was 24h free coffee and more free amenities as needed, we loved the location and the availability of surrounding shops. We didn't want to leave and will most likely be back.
The pudding I bought at the kyoto department store didn't come with a spoon, but the hotel staff kindly provided a plastic spoon, which was very helpful. I'm grateful for their kind hospitality.
