This is a hotel of faded Highland splendour - but we are quite happy in such hotels. The staff are good and try to help and the room was quiet and comfortable. The shame is that the food caters to the lowest common denominator - coach parties. The choice for dinner was remarkably small and the food was average. The breakfast was not hot and the food in heated containers should have been replenished. The bacon was a welded mat of rashers - inedible. The hotel served our purpose but needs...

Good choice for a family holiday..6 adults and 2 kids and it didnt seem too small due to layout of the property.
Excellent bedrooms and bathrooms..very modern and clean.
Kitchen area looks onto lounge and dining area ..gives good separation while keeping all included.
Only fault was a dishwasher door that closes sharply so beware.!!...hopefully now fixed.

Easy to access the property, and you can order your breakfast at check in. The room was really clean, and so beautifully decorated. The rooms aren't as sound proofed as expected, but still a lovely place to stay. The breakfast was delicious, and the staff member we spoke to was so helpful. Will be back!

Our stay was a great success in no small part due to Graeme and the team. The room was a good size and the shower room very well equipped. The bed was huge and very comfortable and the bedroom well furnished. Wifi is free and works well. Breakfast is a real highlight - cooked to your liking and lovely and fresh. Graeme's knowledge of the local area is also a great boon. Highly recommended.

Booked this weekend break at the last minute. We were very impressed with our accommodation. The layout of our room in the courtyard was very impressive. Just a short walk to the dinning area for breakfast. Breakfast was very well presented and the right temperature so that it was very enjoyable. The staff were very helpful and helped us very much to enjoy our stay. We will definitely be back.

This was the perfect getaway for me. Situated approx. 5 minutes from the Main Street surrounded by beautiful countryside and tranquility. I loved every minute of my stay as a solo traveller I felt very safe and looked after by the amazing staff. Deluxe room was perfect for my needs, very spacious with a lovely deep bath and separate walk-in shower. The bed was massive and one of the comfiest I’ve ever slept in. Breakfast each morning was delicious, especially the granola. I cannot rate this...

Excellent stay. Spacious, clean rooms, comfortable bed and quiet room even though there was a named storm with 70mph winds you wouldn't have had a clue until you looked out the window, also never heard any noise from other guests.
Would definitely stay again.

When is the best time to go to Kingussie?
The best time to visit Kingussie is typically from late spring to early autumn, specifically May through September, when the weather is mildest and the days are longest.
During these months, you'll find the most pleasant conditions for outdoor activities and exploring the Scottish Highlands. Temperatures are generally comfortable, ranging from 10°C to 18°C, making it ideal for walking, cycling, and wildlife spotting. This period also sees the least rainfall, though it's always wise to pack for all weathers in Scotland.
For those who enjoy hiking and nature, July and August offer the warmest temperatures and the longest daylight hours, great for tackling longer trails in the Cairngorms National Park. The heather will be in bloom, adding beautiful colour to the landscapes.
However, if you prefer to avoid the busiest tourist season and still enjoy good weather, May, June, and September are excellent choices. You'll experience fewer crowds at popular attractions like the Highland Wildlife Park and the Ruthven Barracks, and accommodation might offer better value.
