Friendly host, beautiful room with lovely little extras, fantastic breakfast

A very lovely, clean and welcoming B&B. Debbie and Rich were excellent hosts, and provided tips on the various activities to try and things to do.An ideal location and easily accessible to the seafront and amenities.

This is a great place to stay in Torquay. We were met with a lovely warm welcome from the owners who made us feel very welcome from the start. The room was immaculate and nicely decorated. Breakfast was delicious and the owners couldn't do enough for us and our 1 year old. We will definitely be returning.

The staff were so friendly and went out there way to make you feel comfortable through things such as a free nightcap before bed, lovely breakfast etc The room was lovely with again free little bits like sweets, was clean and had a tv with a DVD player in ( you could also get DVDs to watch in there little guest room where you could also buy drinks and play games). It is also just a short walk to the beach, shops and other things such as golf and a leisure Center :) I definitely recommend to...

Brilliant attention to detail !! The owners treated us like old friends, and as it was or 34 wedding anniversary they had laid on various presents and extras. Thoroughly recommend.

I was frankly amazed at the quality of Briarfields immediately I walked through the front door. Everything looks freshly decorated, neutral colours, spotless carpeting... My room (No.8) on the top floor looked like it had been decorated yesterday, a small fridge with fresh milk and a bottle of water, comfortable bed, good quality clock/alarm. The bathroom was spotless.

Thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights here. Breakfasts lovely [ my favourite is the scrambled egg with smoked salmon ] Suppers also delicious. Good menu selection with Sea Bass & Rump Steak being my choices ( on 2 different occasions - - I should add.! ). Dog friendly - which is important if you want to have your pooches with you which we did. Allocated a downstairs room which is delightful with excellent shower & loo facilities. Would we want to stay here again. You bet !! PRB

Really enjoyed our weekend away. The Charterhouse is within walking distance of the beach and the town. Perfect on a sunny day! Beautiful, well looked after grounds with outdoor seating and a swimming pool. Marion and Les are lovely and very helpful, they go out of their way to make you feel welcome. They have a vast knowledge of the area and lots of ideas for days out. Breakfast is great and so much choice, definitely sets you up for a busy day of sightseeing! Their homemade bread, jams and...

We had a fantastic break, the hosts were perfect, the facilities great and we enjoyed the most amazing food. The breakfast buffet was extensive with a great range of local and home made produce and this was all followed by a mesmerising choice of hot food which included local produce. There was cake on hand all day along with fresh tea and coffee and the hosts couldn't do enough to ensure we had a great stay.

Amazing breakfast with extremely helpful staff. Room was very clean with all the little extras that make your stay special.

This was a home from home. We could not have been made to feel more welcome. After a 3.5 day drive from Corfu to walk through the doors of a friendly Great British hostelry was simply the best experience. Spacious accommodation in the Flat, plenty of room to unwind with my two dogs who were a little wound up after the long drive. A good nights sleep and the ability to run off steam in the field opposite, we all left relaxed and chilled. Pub grub was fabulous too! As I couldn’t stay for breakfast...

Lovely room, bright and fresh with wonderful sea views. Very helpful and friendly staff.

Great hosts, parking permit was provided which saved us a lot of money, easy walk to the harbour. The room was huge and cleaned every day. The only let down was the British summer weather!

Hello - We had a lovely long weekend in Babbacombe. The hotel is in a great location 2mins walk from the Cliff Railway. No on-site parking but plenty of street parking. The breakfast was fantastic. The hosts are two lovely people who are very accommodating! We will 100% be back next time we are back in Torquay
