Find Beach Resorts in Karon

For the money, this is a great hotel to stay during a vacation to Phuket (Kata Island). I went during the Covid19 "sandbox" system. This meant there were very few people there. The staff was helpful but had limited English fluency (this usually wasn't a problem -- but don't expect any detailed discussions on something urgent). Even with all of the covid19 protocols, they did their best when my information got lost in the bureacratic shuffle. The rooms are what you should expect for 20 USD/night. It has a faux French feel to it. Thin but clean beds. Nice shower and bath but the construction is shabby. Everything has a 'cheap' feel compared to what they are emulating. Still, for the price, great hotel!

Here's what I liked and disliked about my stay at the Centara Grand Hotel: 1. We got a free upgrade to a brilliant ocean view room. Amazing view. Thank you for that! 2. The beach in front of the hotel is beautiful. Unfortunately, the waves were too strong, so not swimmable when we were there. But beautiful beach nonetheless. 3. The hotel is a bit old school and needs a renovation. You can feel the wear and tear everywhere. But it has multiple pools, a 24-hour gym, a club for kids, etc. 4. Breakfast buffet is absolutely horrible for a Centara branded hotel. Small selection and low quality. There should really be a much more generous selection of everything, starting with the fruit, juice, cold cuts and bread selection. But the worst is the coffee. A crime! 5. The location could be good a year from now. It is only 10 minutes away from Patong, but most places are closed due to COVID-19 restrictions.The Laguna and Phuket Town areas are better alternatives. 6. Room service food is terrible. We visited Phuket as the first "sandbox" tourists, so here are a few tips: Don't book anything before you get your Certificate of Entry pre-approval. For that, you need only the health insurance and vaccination certificates. Once you have it, you need to get SHABA certificates from the hotel, pre-pay 3 COVID-19 tests (= $300), flights, etc. There's also a risk of getting quarantined if anyone near you gets infected. Insurance won't cover your quarantine hotel if you test negative.

This is in a good location. Take a daily walk to town and back up the hill to the hotel for good exercise. The pool is great with many relaxing lounge chairs, including some that are in the water, which I enjoyed. The staff was helpful and attentive. They made a mistake on my room service bill. I changed my mind when I ordered, but they charged me for both dishes. The front desk worker deleted one of the dishes without a problem. I recommend that you get receipts, though. I was lucky that they believed me.

Everything was perfect during my stay. The staff and management met every need I had. This resort has a beautiful location right on Karon Beach and a great clean pool area to relax under the shade. I will come back again. Thank you Beyond Resort Karon!🙂🙏

A wonderful place to stay w my grandson. It would have been perfect had we been able to swim (Covid rules). The sevice was top notch, Thank you, Sam! The breakfast crew was sooer accommodating. Room service exemplary! The view from our room one of the best ever! Just a great place to stay in Phuket! Oh! And a short walk to the beach. 2 private beaches not to be missed ELEPHANT BEACH, feed and take pics w 3 sweet elephants, and Paradise Beach, perfect for swimming and hiking.

Because of Covid-19, we were unable to travel but a refund was refused, just a voucher for further travel which may not be possible, so an option of refund too should of been offered
