Right near the main fancy shopping streets, the hotel was recommended by a local as one of his favorite hotels in the city. Of course he was right. Really helpful staff at giving us directions, holding our bags our last day, recommending things to do. Perfect small hotel is you want to feel Europe.

Somewhat close to the centre, it was initially quite a challenge to navigate through Brussels complex transport network. The staff were extremely helpful and made me feel very welcome. The breakfast is basic; filling and nutrishious nevertheless. The room was much smaller than expected, but it served its purpose. I did find a sock and a sardine can in what should have been an empty clean bin. I overall would recommend this hotel for its beauty, character, proximity and hospitable staff.

Nice enough for the price. Rooms are small but well kept/ clean. Good water pressure. Staff are nice and happy to go the extra mile to help a tourist get around.
Breakfast is basic, so you might have to go out if you want a wider variety.
Overall a good place to stay if just for a few days.

"A charming Guesthouse in an ideal Brussels area."
A different experience from staying in an impersonal big chain hotel. *A charming guesthouse with a friendly owner... It's more like staying with a relative who happens to own a large house in a nice neighbourhood! (With a couple of incredibly docile dogs).
Enjoy the homemade jam with your breakfast and have Siegfried keep you right with the coffee machine if you're a bit clumsy like me.
The are a fair few things of interest in the immediate Ixelles area; The ponds for a stroll or a jog. Nice bars/restaurants, Place Flagey (a meeting square with a cultural centre and cinema as well as one of the top Frites stands in the city), Avenue Louise, Art Nouveau architecture etc... *Check out a book called "The 500 Hidden Secrets of Brussels" for inspiration.
Bendy bus 71 stops outside the guesthouse and takes you to the centre for your Grand'Place and touristy needs and take the time to enjoy a gueuze or two. Beer is an art-form in Belgium. Sightseeing can be had on Bus 71 *for De Broukere* as you pass en route; Ixelles Ponds, Place Flagey, African Quarter, The Royal Palace and the Art Museums (for your Bruegel, Magritte etc...), Central Station and Place de Broukere (for Grand'Place). The return bus is also Bus 71 *for Delta* which takes you back to just outside the guesthouse.
A day ticket covers all forms of transport in the city (bus, tram, metro).
Siegfried will be happy to give you recommendations.
Brussels has it's own unique charms and you'll be in the mood to return.
We spent 5 wonderful nights here. Staff were friendly and hospitable in all ways possible. The room (top most suite) was spectacular. Gorgeously decorated and also fun. Steep staircase could potentially be a problem for anyone with mobility issues but led to the most luxurious bathroom suite. Simply delightful. Would recommend for a lovely romantic getaway.
