"I had a wonderful 2 night stay at Neidpath Castle. I can’t believe I got to have the entire castle to myself when booking the room. "This is an interesting hotel with quite a history, which has been written up for the benefit of guests and is well worth reading. It is situated a few miles from the beautiful Tweed valley with its Salmon fishing The weather cannot be relied upon to be warm and dry, but that applies to most of Scotland, so you takes a chance. There are some wonderful walks from the hotel Also. the hotel is well situated for a drive into Edinburgh (or indeed a Bus ride)"

"Plenty of pluses. Abundant free parking. Good check in. Friendly staff. Room good (could do with a chair). Bar and restaurant welcoming. Didn’t confirm online dinner reservation request, but dinner ok, limited menu, but reasonably priced. 10% service charge annoyed me. Service was very good, but it should be at consumer discretion. Coffee cafetière, and fresh milk, in room most welcome, as was ‘proper’ glass (not plastic cup). Breakfast not included at £90 disappointing."
