Beautiful old building right on the canal and at the foot of the Charles Bridge, so the the location couldn't be better. Walking distance to the old city and the castle, Lokal and Vinograff restaurants, the Kafka museum
The hotel was clean and comfortable. The hotel staff were really nice and polite, also very helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them.
Breakfast was quite good for a buffet style breakfast, food and drinks were constantly being topped up. Even though it was self service it was staffed so was always someone there to help you if you needed anything.
The location was great, quite a few restaurants and cafes around, had something for everyone. There wasn't many lively bars around or places to drink past 12, which i suppose is either a positive or negative depending what you are looking for. The hotel bar is open 24 hours, which is very quiet and was hardly used when i stayed there, (in May).
This hotel has an amazing location and that should be enough of a draw to book. the staff are very helpful. the rooms are large but a bit run down, this seems to be all over Budapest though and some renovation was being done on the front entrance during my stay.
The room was spacious clean warm and had everything required. The hotel feels very secure, but its really the location that is the best thing about it. It is an easy walk all over the Pest side and outside the hotel is the Elizabeth Bridge to take you over to the Buda side.
We were able to check in upon arrival. Front staff was excellent. Room was small (typical size for Europe) but clean and comfortable. Good location for walking downtown and restaurants. A couple of blocks. From the river.
Visited Budapest over a weekend. After reading other reviews mentioning that the hotel is on a busy road, I requested a quiet room and was grateful to be given one at the back of the building. Room was spacious and clean but found the beds to be on the small and soft side. Also bedsheets were very worn so did not feel like it served much purpose. Coffee and tea facilities in the reception area. Location is good. Easy to get to from airport and we walked everywhere - to the Buda side, to the bathhouse, Parliament house and along the river.
Well-located in the heart of the city, this Budapest central hotel offers charming 3-star accommodation within walking …More
Good location, very helpful staff and nice clean room. Would class more as an upmarket hostel rather than a hotel as no hotel facilities as such. It is just a building with 6 bedrooms but no other facilities. Breakfast vouchers are provided for a bar a 5 to 10 minute walk away and the food there was good. I had read on trip advisor that the hotel is quite hard to find although our taxi found it straight away. There is no large sign with the hotel name and the enter through a very large wooden door and on entering it is quite dingy looking. There are 2 flights of steps and a lift. All in all if you are looking for just a base which is clean and cheap with friendly staff then it's the ideal place. If you want a hotel with facilities then this wouldn't be suitable.
This hotel is close to the city centre, walking distance to most of the places you'd want to see in Budapest. The staff are extremely helpful and polite. Had a lovely experience here, would certainly stay here again!
"Pleasant hotel walking distance to all attractions"
We arrived after dark and the area around the hotel is so viby, with al fresco diners and drinkers, yet it fees safe and civilised.
Given the liveliness I was slightly worried about noise levels but we were given a 7th floor room and there was no noise at all.
The hotel staff are efficient and fast, and the room was cleaned to a good standard.
The location is as good as it gets in my view. You get the liveliness of Pest on your doorstep, and are still a very reasonable walking distance to Buda.
In a nutshell, if you are looking for a nice place to stay in a great location without breaking the bank this hotel is perfect.
On the eastern side of the Danube, Pest is Buda’s flatter, edgier cousin. Tree-lined Andrassy Avenue was originally designed as Budapest’s answer to the Champs-Elysees. Heroes’ Square lies at the eastern end of Andrassy Avenue and is home to the impressive Millennium Monument. Hungarian gifts, food, and souvenirs can be found in Pest’s multi-storey Great Market Hall, the largest in Budapest.
