The hotel is on a quiet street just across from the busier 'Pest' part of the city and close to the funicular. We had a very pleasant room with the window opening up to a view of the castle behind us. The hotel is modern and clean, the staff is pleasant and happy to organise trips, etc. Breakfast was a good selection of hot and cold foods. We were recommended to Lanchid 19 by friends and we would certainly be happy to recommend it to friends going to Budapest.
This is a nice, modern hotel with very friendly staff excellently located three minutes' walk from a Metro station, from which it is 5-10 minutes over to Pest. My room was clean and decently furnished with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was OK with a fairly powerful shower over the bath. The bar was well appointed and open until midnight, serving drinks at very reasonable prices. Breakfast was OK but probably not worth the price; I only had it once and chose to breakfast out on other mornings. The menu for dinner looked good but I did not try the restaurant. Wi-Fi is free in all rooms and public areas and worked well. In summary, a good place to stay if you want to be close to the centre and all facilities without being right on top of them.
"Fantastic panoramic views of Budapest from rooms "
Great hotel with outstanding staff and service. All the staff were very professional, friendly and helpful but we'd like to single out Ferenc, the doorman, who answered all our questions very knowledgeably and made sure we got the best taxi service available. Be careful with hailing down taxis on the street as you may be in for an unpleasant surprise at their rates. Best to call one by phone or walk to a nearby hotel and ask them to call one for you..
"Nice hotel, great staff, wonderful hot breakfast"
The Buda Castle hotel is a nice location for tourists, close to attractions in the Buda Castle district. The staff were helpful and friendly. The hot buffet breakfast was great and included eggs, bacon, juice, cereal, and more. The facilities are clean and modern with comfortable beds.
4* hotel with fantastic views over the Danube to the Hungarian Parliament building. In Buda, which is the quieter part of the city but a short walk to the tram stop with links by tube and buses to wherever you want to go in Buda or Pest. Large rooms with comfortable beds and a modern feel. The staff were efficient, polite and professional and the breakfasts were extensive and nourishing.
This is a top quality hotel in an excellent location. I wanted to be near but not in the city centre and have easy access. Novotel Budapest Danube certainly came up trumps here. Margit Sziget, the beautiful island, is about 20 minutes walk away, the bus and metro connections at Batthany Ter are less than 3 minutes away and there is a huge shopping centre about 15 minutes away and numerous restaurants within very short walking distance.
The hotel itself was very clean and the rooms serviced every day. Tea and coffee making facilities are in the room which is not always the case when travelling abroad. The air conditioning makes fro a very pleasant stay whterver the weather outside and the views from many rooms are of the river or Parliament buildings and a 'selfie' window on fllor 6!
Worth looking for a great value break
Not five star but top notch. As it's just below the north end of Castle Hill, we walked through the area twice a day. That alone was a treat. Wonderful restaurant. One doesn't go to Budapest for the pizza, but theirs is great (and we're from New York!) like the rest of their food. A good value all the way around.
The hotel its self is lovely and so are the staff the rooms are big. But if you like a cuppa in the morning you either have to wait till breakfast or pay more for the room otherwise you will not have one. The breakfast change slightly each day which are nice.
This is mostly a residential area with pubs , restaurants, newsagents and market in walking distance. If you wish to go to the old town where the castle and.more tourist attractions are it is a 5min taxi ride or otherwise a bit of a walk.
Unusual apartments in Buda, lots of restaurants close by but still very quiet. Apartments big and clean, we had one with a small balcony which is handy for those of us with a smoking habit. Staff amazing English speaking and very helpful. If you have a mobility problem note this apartment complex up a slight bank, lots of uneven cobbles.
It was nice to be able to fill the full size fridge with snacks and cold drinks. The bathroom had a shower and bath. There was a washing machine but I didn't use this
Bed very firm and only one rather flat pillow but staff responded very quickly to our request for more. AC worked well as did the WiFi.
Budapest is beautiful and a trip down the Danube is a must. We also visited Gellert Spa which was lovely especially my massage (flip flops needed and a swim hat for the main pool).
We bought a weeks pass for public transport which is amazing, no need for expensive taxis, we did ask reception to order us a large taxi to take us to the airport and this worked out not much more (10.000HUF) than the shuttle service available from the airport.
We found the price of drinks and food much cheaper than home unless you ate in the main tourist squares. We enjoyed the food and had no tummy problems.
There is a language barrier in Hungary with not all people understanding English. I had a medical problem and could not get treatment at 2 hospitals - had to go to a private clinic located in our building. Would highly recommend
