Staff were very helpful giving advice on best tours to take, all were very friendly, we were upgraded by the hotel to a duplex room with a bedroom level and sitting room which was very nice.
At breakfast there was a good choice of food, sufficient for our needs with scrabbled eggs, hash browns beans and all the normal meats cereals croissants and rolls. The room doubled as a bar in the evening and afternoon. Free coffee and tea were served in the afternoon. Hotel is located on the Buda side with Pest no more than a 20 minute walk away, Buda gives you stunning views across the water to Pest, much the quieter side but nice to come back to in the evening.
We had a wonderful 2 day stay at St Georges, room was huge & quiet. Staff very friendly. Food in the restaurent is OK, but there are several great restaurants within a 5 minute walk.
Staff happy to make books, call a cab etc.

This hotel was situated on the Buda side of Budapesh. We had a view from our bedroom window to die for. It looked over the river Danube with parliament buildings to the right and the Chain bridge to the left, which were lit up at night.
The staff were very professional and you could have a cooked breakfast is you wished with personal service. Afternoon tea was served (free) between 4-6, in the white music room, which really has to be seen to be believed!
I am quite hard to please and could not fault this hotel so anyone going to Budapest you must stay here, and no I dont have shares in it!
"Beautiful Location next to the Mathias Cathedral"
Our first night we had a view from our window of the Mathias Cathedral. It was amazing. The people at the hotel were very nice, the facility is a little older, but well kept up. Parking is a minor problem since it is on the street in the castle district, but overall this was a very nice place to stay.
Castle Hill is off-limits to private vehicles. At the top of the hill lies Fisherman’s Bastion, a 19th-century limestone building with excellent views of the city below. Other sights include the Royal Palace, National Gallery, and the Mary Magdalena Tower. Shops and restaurants also dot the streets.
