Good location when leaving the country by train, nice clean rooms. It is a shame about the staff. Very poor at the main desk, not polite, no manners, not friendly and not welcoming. Not good enough, made me and my friends feel very unconfortable and unwelcomed. I would get rid them and hire someone who is interested in keeping the hotel afloat. Very poor, shame.
Beautiful historic hotel located in the centre of Budapest. Tram access across the street but while there, we were able to walk practically everywhere!
When thinking of going to the thermal baths or Danube river cruise or any amazing activities that Budapest has to offer, ask the concierge at the Grand Corinthia! They were extremely helpful and were able to book activities that saved us a lot of time.
Pictures of the beautiful lobby are a must! It is absolutely stunning!
The buffet-breakfast is apparently outstanding but we ventured in the city for breakfast so we have not tried it.
Great hotel, amazing staff!
Staff were courteous on arrival late at night and continued so over the course of the week we stayed there.
The rooms were large with the advantage of the kitchen area so we were able to boil a kettle and make coffee whenever we liked and if we had wanted we could have cooked in the microwave oven and used the well stocked cutlery and crockery.
TV channels were a good range with movie channels in English. We were also able to watch the Germany V Ireland soccer match in the room.
Breakfast selection was very good with a good range of cheese/ham/cucumber/tomato with a variety of breads. Fresh fruit was also good at breakfast. Time of breakfast between 7 and 10 was generous so we could plan our day easily.
Named after Queen Elisabeth, the seventh district of Budapest is also the city's historical Jewish Quarter. The area is home to several synagogues, including Europe's largest on Dohany utca. A high proportion of young professional residents make Erzsebetvaros a popular nightlife district.
