We had a truly wonderful stay in this hotel. The bedrooms are beautifully designed to maximise storage and space. The shower is more like a mini wet room and the towels are lovely and fluffy. The breakfast was tasty with lots of choice and the hotel bar was comfortable with a range of cocktails available to drink. Complementary tea/ coffee in the afternoon was a nice touch.
The staff throughout the hotel were excellent.
Very helpful and friendly concierge and restaurant staff. The room was very nicely decorated and cleaned to a high standard every day. The restaurant is small enough to feel special and the decoration on the ceiling is stunning. Excellent location with bus stops and tramlines immediately in front of hotel. Our room was very quiet.

The centrally located Hotel Nemzeti Budapest welcomes its guest from November 2012. Enjoy the artistic spirit of Budapest in …More
This was our second visit to Budapest this year and we were so pleased with this hotel that we decided to stay here again. We were in the opposite block this time and it was even better than our previous apartment as it had a separate bedroom. It is near to the Corvin Lux shopping centre and close to public transport links making it a good base for a stay in Budapest. Staff are friendly and helpful too.
We arrived at Bo18 and was told that there was a large group who were staying there decided to extend their stay longer so the hotel was fully booked. They offered to upgrade us to their sister hotel Bo33 which is rated 4 star closer to the city. Both hotels seems to be fairly new. Our room at Bo33 was clean and spacious. The breakfast was excellent with champagne. The only thing is the elevators seem to have a sewer odor. I hope they can resolve that. Otherwise, the location, service, and accommodation were superb.
"A modern hotel in a not so good area of Budapest"
This was my third time here. The hotel now belongs to a chain and staff seem to work part time at another sister hotel in Budapest as well. However, the staff are friendly and helpful. My room on the second floor was adequate and the bathroom excellent with a terrific shower. I had a kettle and tray provided but had to use a plug near the floor which was ridiculous for a so-called Luxury Double Room.
Breakfast buffet is excellent and the staff there extremely hard working. I enjoyed scrambled egg with crispy bacon most mornings and the coffee is very good.
The surrounding area is rather rough and you will see a few bin riflers and street sleepers but I had no difficulties with them - might be different for a single lady.
All in all this is a good hotel for tourists and public transport is nearby and easy to use.
This hotel is absolutely beautiful. The staff are so pleasant and helpful. The rooms are so clean and airy. We had the 2 bedroom which actually catered for 5 of us, myself and husband had a lovely huge bedroom and our children had a bedroom with 2 single beds and in the live in lounge / kitchen there was another bed put up for our other child this did not impact on any space as the lounge / kitchen area is very big. We also had breakfast there which was all fresh fruit and breads, meat and cheese (no hot food) you could cater for yourselves as the kitchen they have in the rooms is well equipped (microwave, kettle, large fridge, washing machine, dishwasher, sink). The hotel was a 3-5 minute walk to the metro station which takes you into Budapest in about 10 mins, you could walk but very hot when we were there. The area around is very quiet. This has to be one of my favourite hotels to stay and I would recommend it to anyone who is thinking of visiting Budapest.
My daughter age 19 years old, and I stayed a week and we found the room clean and nice balcony. Air conditioning was very needed. The staff are a bit hit and miss, some of the front of house reception are quite rude occassionally, and the consierge failed to order our taxi at 8 am we needed for an appointment. all in all, good value for money, and the beautyparlour and treatments are good value. I would recommend staying again, however I would maybe upgrade to a superior room next time as the twins are a bit small ish. Also the restaurant staff very helpful and generally quite nice.
Jozsefvaros is a predominantly residential area which grew as an inner suburb of Budapest in the 18th and 19th centuries, and retains much of its fine old architecture. Home to several university buildings, plus the National Museum and the Natural History Museum, it has a lively student scene, with plenty of fashionable cafes and bistros, and is currently undergoing rapid gentrification. Every May, the National Museum holds a weekend festival featuring live performances, short film screenings, and folk art displays.
