"To start with, no check in information was sent to me before I arrived. When I arrived I couldn't get hold of the owner as he wasn't answering his phone and didn't have the curtesy to reply to the several messages I left, both in the form of answer phone and text. I had to contact Hotels.com via the online chat. Eventually one of the owners employees phoned me and said he would come and let me in. Once in the property, things didn't really improve. "We were staying the night for a family wedding locally the next day. The room was OK but stayed in better Holiday Inn Express hotels. We always seems to have an issue trying to sort the air conditioning out which was too cold even though it was hot outside. As usual we always have to hunt for our glasses! to deal with the settings. We decided to eat a meal in the evening where breakfast is served. It’s not a very nice room & the menu didn’t offer much choice! It was just ok having just driven from Paignton! we were too tired to go out. When we checked in the lady on reception was very nice and helpful"

"We had a lovely weekend at this hotel and spa and overall really enjoyed our stay. The amenities were very good and provided everything we needed for a relaxing break. The staff were excellent throughout—friendly, attentive and welcoming, which really added to the experience. The location was also a highlight. The nearby village was lovely to explore, and there was a nice little walk close by, which was perfect for getting out and enjoying the surroundings. The only real disappointment was the food. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to the rest of the experience and did let the weekend down a little. With a better dining experience, this would have been a fantastic stay from start to finish. Overall, though, we had a very enjoyable and relaxing weekend and would happily consider returning."
