"The hotel was located in a quiet area
With good parking
The food was excellent although an offering of fresh fruit for breakfast would of been appreciated
The bed and room was comfortable"
"Great location next to the river, friendly and efficient staff. Enjoyed the singer on Friday evening. Food was good, plentiful selection for breakfast.
Despite the provision of a fan the room was still hot. In an ideal world it would benefit from Aircon
A small fridge/mini bar would also be a useful addition."
"Beautiful hotel. Clearly a labour of love and wonderful to stay in a building with local history. Quiet and peaceful despite being in the town centre. Lots of great food and drink options nearby. "
"Near blickling hall. Good food. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean rooms. Nice walks. We made use of a NT Explorer 4 day pass. Lots to do around blickling hall. Free parking."

10/10 Excellent
"We stayed at this hotel for one night in August, the room was lovely and comfortable and they were able to accommodate our 2 children on Z-Beds in the same room- this was very much appreciated. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, lovely ladies serving the breakfast too.
The swimming pool is such a lovely addition, heated to a nice temperature. We will definitely be coming back! "
"We were visiting friends in Cromer Pier Show and I wanted to book a last minute Hotel. The Holiday Inn was the closest (over 20 miles away) and available and the best rate.
I didn’t realise breakfast was included, which was a nice surprise when the receptionist informed us at check in.
We could have used the pool, but didn’t have time in the end. The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable. My son and I will be back next year, unless we camp in Cromer.
I can recommend this Holiday Inn, convenient for the airport and has a cheeky McDonald’s situated behind it, if you feel like a late night snack! The breakfast was very good! I wasn’t sure about the barking dog in the conservatory, at breakfast time, I felt sorry for the staff member who had to converse with the owner, who was worse.
We would recommend this holiday Inn for a budget stay, that’s a little more than budget, but worth it. "
"Wonderful experience in this exceptional property. Grounds were amazing and on right on the Norfolk Broads. Breakfast was indeed an occasion and the food was first-class. The complimentary 2 hours per day in the Spa was a treat and the property is only a short walk to the two "
"Fantastic location and great hosts. Wet peaceful and quiet and amazing gardens. Wish we had more time as Travis was a wealth of knowledge of WW2 planes and air hubs with an amazing collection of artifacts and history in his museum that we has no idea even existed when booking. Would highly recommend extra time to see. Would definitely stay here again. Many, many, many thanks!!"
"This is the third occasion we have stayed at The Recruiting Sergeant and hopefully it won't be the last. We received a prompt and friendly check-in on arrival and were shown to our first-floor room which was a good size, as was the bathroom. Both were spotless and were kept that way for the duration of our 4 night stay. Overlooking the road caused us no concerns. Great choice of good quality food for breakfast and we had our evening meal there on 3 of the 4 nights. Superb choice of food and wine which us well-cooked, plentiful, and served by well-mannered and good-humoured staff."
"Absolutely loved our stay, Sheelah and Jack were perfect hosts. The cottage was lovely and we all slept very well. The facilities were spot on and as described and the swimming pool was a lovely bonus with the weather. Thank you Sheelah and Jack for making my 60th birthday one to remember and treasure. Regards the Stevens family. "
