"The building is centuries old, so keep that in mind. The stairs are not always level, but they manage to provide modern amenities. The restaurant is a favorite among locals for good reason. And the House is across the street from the cathedral. So convenient."

"We stayed at New Forest Lodge for a weekend trip to Paultons Park. Overall I'd say our trip was okay. There were definite areas of improvement and I wouldn't suggest booking if you're looking for luxury. That being said, the room was mostly comfortable and we had everything we needed. When you arrive, if you're situated in a room upstairs, I could see the carpet was very worn. It wasn't the best impression. The decor is quite dated and the TV is pretty small. The king bed was comfortable. The singles however were put up beds and were uneven and not terribly comfortable. There was carpet worn away at the bathroom threshold to the point the grippers were exposed which presents a hazard, expecially for young children. The radiator in the bathroom was also damaged and didnt look overly reassuring of its safety. The check in was using a keysafe as the reception wasnt manned. I did see some staff briefly both mornings of our stay. Its a shame they dont have more of a presence. The lodge met our needs for the purpose we booked it for, I just feel it would be much improved with some investment into refurbishment. "

"Check in was ok. The booking website failed to include an option which included breakfast, so I had to pay separately for that. The hand basin in my room was partially blocked and took ages to drain. .... other than that, it was most comfortable, thank you."

"I wish I had stayed here longer, the staff, the rooms, the little garden area for my dog to enjoy, was just wonderful. It was a beautiful stay, wonderful breakfast and bar area where me and the dog just chilled with a nice glass of wine (me not the dog!) was delightful. 10/10 would recommend. The village of Stockbridge as well, its fantastic, such lovely places to eat/drink nearby too."

"Hotel clean and tidy.Location perfect for exploring Salisbury, staff very friendly, breakfast very good and restaurant food reasonably priced, fresh and tasty. Hotel looking a bit tired and in need of some love and attention regarding decor, some carpets, etc. Lovely to sit outside on the river bank with a drink in hand or if the weather not favourable in the restaurant looking out "

"Really enjoyable stay. I didn't realise they had no restuarant for the evening, however they do offer a shuttle service in to the town centre which will drop & collect you at a time that suits you"

"We've stayed in various hotels over the past several years - this is is certainly one of the best. All the people that work there are lovely, the room was excellent, and the good reasonably priced and very nice. Salisbury isn't too far from us, and since we enjoy the antique shops, I can see us staying here again."
