"Overall the stay was good. The parking not so much. There is a tiny carpark at the back with I think 8 spaces 4 of which are electric charging points. On arrival we managed to park in an electric space. On checking in we’re told if not charging we will be seen on cctv and fined. So we moved to public carpark paying £11.50 to take us to 4.30pm the next day. Maximum we could do. Very inconvenient luckily after a race for a space in the morning we were able to park in carpark. Now breakfast a bit chaotic with egg orders being taken then a wait for other hot food bacon arrived as we were finishing. Coffee is not good so opp for a pot of tea. The actual staff were very helpful and friendly. And the room was clean although the room was not cleaned and topped up with teas etc during stay. Had to go and ask for toilet roll."
The Riverside, WorldHotels Distinctive

"The Riverside is close to the centre of Salisbury but still easy to get to, no narrow streets and plenty of easy parking. The river view room was modern, clean, comfortable and very pleasant. The access to the garden and the river bank was a real plus. The breakfast buffet was good, fill up here and you will barely need lunch! The only minor problem is that the gravel on the car park isn't friendly to wheeled suitcases."

"It’s a lovely 4 star hotel, but my room felt 3 star. It was comfortable, but a little tired. I was travelling solo and paid extra for a double room. It seems solo travellers are often slightly sidelined, and in this case my room was cosy but tucked out of the way next to the housekeeping store. This meant that a lie-in wasn’t really possible as staff arrived for work next door at 6am so there were doors closing and creaky floorboards outside until around 8am. Fortunately, I was out early myself most days, but this might be worth bearing in mind. My room was a little dusty and the curtains were fixed in place. I had to ask for them to be adjusted as they wouldn’t fully close. There was also a non-working plug socket and a blown bulb. I can’t fault the staff who were all lovely and quickly happy to help, the food was great and the restaurant and bar had a good atmosphere. I’d be happy to return, but I’d ask for a different room next time."
