We arrived with our 8 and 9 year old after midnight, and a long day of travelling. The lobby felt dingy. While I was checking in I realized my children were watching a murder victim scene on Law and Order SUV, inappropriate for lobby television. We entered our room which was one where you didn't want to touch anything, or take your shoes off. Being after midnight, our options were limited. We put our children to bed, and then sat on our bed to relax. Shortly afterword we noticed a bug on our bed. Not to jump to conclusions, I googled "bedbugs" to find that indeed, this was a bed bug. We pulled back the sheets, and found more. We then started the process of waking up our kids so that we could leave the hotel for other accommodation. The front desk person didn't seem surprised that the room had bedbugs, and called us a cab. Fortunately, we were able to make a reservation at the Sandman in Oakville where we had stayed previously. We had reserved at BW, because it's a BW Plus. I suppose we misinterpreted the meaning of plus in this case. We thought the Plus was referring to something quality related. In this case for us the Plus referred to bedbugs. Expedia refunded our room charge. I would have expected Expedia or BW to cover the cost of our cab, make amends for the inconvenience, or even apologize, but none of those things happened.
