It is just a lovely retreat in a beautiful location. The hotel rooms are a lovely minimalist Japanese design, and the staff couldn't be more helpful. I wish we had more time to stay here longer, and it's one of the very few places I would absolutely return to without hesitation.

We stayed at this property for two nights and absolutely loved it! The location was fantastic and easily one of the highlights of our Japan trip. Everything we needed was conveniently located in one place, so you really can’t go wrong with this property. The amenities were next-level, and the attention to detail truly stood out. Having travelled quite a bit, I was genuinely impressed by the breakfast buffet, especially the dedicated counter with food options for babies — such a thoughtful and family-friendly touch that I haven’t come across at other properties. Overall, an outstanding stay, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Japan!

We had a great time at Ashinoko Hanaori in Hakone! The highlight of our stay was definitely the private open-air bath in our room, which made the experience incredibly relaxing and romantic. It was the perfect way to unwind and enjoy some quality time together. The weather didn’t cooperate but it was great for even for one night. The overall atmosphere was peaceful and beautiful, making it a memorable part of our Japan trip. We would highly recommend this resort, especially for couples looking for a relaxing and romantic getaway in Hakone. We would definitely stay here again. My recommendation is to check with the resort on a shuttle bus from which station or take a 45 min cab ride from the train station.

STUNNING property with the Hakone Ropeway right at its doorstep. We stopped here for a couple of days of rest & relaxation after spending 5 days in Tokyo, and boy did we love every minute of it. From the serene lobby, the outdoor foot soak overlooking the lake and mountains, to the luxury awaiting us in our room (which included a private open air bath). Honestly, we could not have asked for more. A great little spot to unwind in the midst of a busy vacation!
