"We enjoyed our stay very much. The house was brightly clean with brand new appliances and a shiny bathroom. The beds were all very comfortable, and the lounge had good chairs and sofa. I would suggest a little motion-detector light at the bottom and top of the stairs for those late night trips down to the bathroom. It's also important to understand that Brits and Americans use the word "dryer" to mean different things. We had a great stay and would certainly use this property again."

"This property is wonderful. The property is brand new/recently renovated and this is apparent as soon as you step inside the front door. All fixtures and fittings are of good quality and the charm of the original building such as exposed beams have all been kept. It is in a quiet location with stunning walks and trails on your doorstep but the village is only a 10 minute walk. We would definitely recommend this property and would happily come back ourselves."

The surrounding Countryside is great for waking and the homely feel made it perfect for the 3 toddlers we had with us and as a parent it was amazing that the kids were allowed to play with many of the toys left out. "We had an amazing stay at Blackthorn Lodge. Joe and Julia were fantastic hosts. Joe was there to welcome us on arrival and explain how everything worked. Blackthorn Lodge had everything we needed. The Hot tub and Sauna were a welcome treat after a day on the lake and hiking in the Brecons. Couldn't get the kids out of the Hot tub! :) Thanks Joe & Julia for a great couple of days away. "This property is outstanding. Absolutely superb views are the first thing that can't be missed. Inside the property is brand new and renovated based around the traditional farm building with characteristics and beams retained and exposed. Beautifully warm, high spec and everything you would want for a stay including a dishwasher and washing machine. Having two full bathrooms was fantastic and having one on the ground floor was also helpful when elderly visitors came. I would/will definately...

"Wonderful historic building with so many rooms to explore. Excellent for multi-generational hide-and-seek. Very good facilities, and the children loved the garden as well as the house. Neighbourhood is housing, but the manor itself was great for 11 of our family (plus dog) celebrating our golden wedding for a week. Plenty of places to visit in the area, including Usk, Caerleon, St Fagans and the Wye Valley. The Castle grounds nearby are also an asset - jogging, dog-walking, football and family...

"The Stables is such a lovely place to stay. It's got lovely views over the countryside and it's so peaceful. The hot tub was great, there's a log burner (which we didn't need), it's very clean and you can tell the Stables has been converted to a high standard. The kitchen is well equipped, the wifi was excellent and its location is ideal for exploring Monmouthshire or the Forest of Dean. Highly recommend the Stables for any couple."

"Property was not well looked after. Blinds were missing from Windows, surfaces had not been cleaned, the kitchen was missing many essential items such as forks, broken glass outside the back door, last guests dirty laundry left in the dinning room, the list goes on. Really put a downer on the first day of the holiday. I don't expect to have to provide essentials like forks and kitchen knives and clean on arrival. Manager of property was initially understanding but is now ignoring my emails."

"This property is the worst place I have ever stayed in, I stay in a lot off air brb as I work away from home a lot. Nothing comes close to this place, absolute dump, mold all over the upstairs, rubbish still on the floor looks like the cleaner gave up years ago. We arrived at the property after waiting 3 hours to be told someone was in there who shouldn’t have been. Key code was wrong took an hour to get that. "Just horrible, the rooms are dirty and damp, bags of rubbish from previous guests left behind, guests night clothes under the bed, tissue papers on the living room floor, mould in the ceiling and on walls, the garden had grass as high as 1mitre and badly kept.
