"What a wonderful experience at this beautiful home. The house was so comfortable with every amenity you need. Everything was so clean and the pool was amazing. Our communication with Maria was always prompt and she left us with helpful suggestions on restaurants and tourist attractions Sad we had such a short time here, next time we’ll stay longer. "The host was a terrific communicator, very responsive. The house was impressive, roomy with fully stocked kitchen. Security gated property with nice views over-looking town of Paso da Regua and Douro River. Close to a variety of restaurants, and the tour boat dock on the Douro River. Just across river a few kilometers away are a number of wineries to enjoy. Suggest make reservation at vineyards for wine-tastings, tours etc."

"Quinta Bemboa is an oasis. The fruits and herbs including apples, limes, cherries and the entire herb garden was amazing. Jorge and Claudia encouraged us to pick our own. The property is secluded offering spectacular views of the valley on hiking trails all in a peaceful and tranquil setting. "We had an amazing time here with a group of 8 friends. Alexandra is a fantastic host - she set up a boat cruise, a private chef and wine tastings for us as well as arranged for us to have a driver. The property is wonderful - better than the pictures even. It was very clean and every bedroom had it's own private bathroom. We will definately be back."

"Two couples stayed two nights at the property. We had a busy schedule so we didn't have as much time as we would have liked to enjoy the nice rooftop deck. Free public parking was available a couple of blocks away and restaurants were a short walk. The home was clean with comfortable beds. We would stay here again!"

I think there may have been an issue the day of our check in based on other reviews because we weren’t met by either from previous communications and the woman who let us in didn’t speak English, which wasn’t a major issue. "Our hosts, Maria Eugenia and Jose, were amazing! Kind, informative, generous, helpful, I can't say enough about them. We stayed for four days, two couples in the larger home. It was spacious, each couple with their own bathroom. We ate most of our meals at home. Our comadre caught a cold right upon arrival. She had a comfortable place to read, rest and recover, while we enjoyed the pool and had such a wonderful outing in the boat on the Douro river. This was definitely a once in a life time...
