A boutique (15 room) hotel built into the mitsukoshi department store. Service is superb. Rooms are large, bright and very tastefully appointed. You get a private sauna which has the unfortunate effect of super heating your bathroom so perhaps ask for this to be switched off in advance of tour arrival if it’s summer. Wonderful location and parking opposite hotel entrance, baths very clean and well maintained. Breakfast was very good, comfy beds and nice big bathroom which is a must when travelling with children, only downside was the rooms are very light- if you have light sensitive children be prepared to be up early!

This place is a bit different to the chain hotels that I usually stay in, but in a good way. I stayed in a 'Japanese style' room, which was very spacious with a comfortable futon. The bathroom was a 'wet room' style, with a deep bath and a shower area next to it, onsen-style. The kitchen area has a single induction hob, which is really just to use with the kettle so don't plan on doing any cooking (I wasn't planning on it, so no problem there). Note that it is a shoes-off property - slippers are...
