"What a gem of a hotel with plenty of character. This place has a spiritual vibe which is very calming and relaxing, Staff were very friendly and food was great loved the vintage type radio in the room gave a lovely relaxed feel. Hotel was spotless and if you lucky you may see one of the ghosts that are said to roam this old hotel. Highly recommended will stay again! "Disappointed to be told on arrival that there's no breakfast due to staff sickness. Also confusion due to two separate invoices from Hotel.com. Great location on the main street and great to be able to park for free. If the pub car park is full of recommend St John's car park, much cheaper than the abbey cat park opposite. Family room was spacious and pleasant. The room is above the bar so the music noise was noticeable but the manager kindly turned it down when asked. If it was a busy night I think the pub noise might be an issue."

Wookey Hole Hotel

"When booking I didn't realise the hotel was right next to the ticket office to Wookey Hole Caves, what a bonus. Checking in was easy and the staff were very informative. After a busy day we decided to have dinner in the hotel restaurant. You do have to reserve in advance but the staff went the extra mile and fitted us in, we were very thankful due to having an exhausted and hungry child. We couldn't fault the meal, we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The family room was a good size, including two single beds and a double, all comfortable for firmer beds. The room was clean and had everything we needed. We didn't hear any other guests, I believe it was busy due to the school holidays. We had breakfast at the hotel, you also need to pre book. Its self service, there was lots to choose from, freshly cooked full English, cereals, fruit, croissants etc. We filled up for the day. We found all the staff to be polite, helpful and as I said previously, they went the extra mile. How refreshing to come across good customer service. Thank you."

Holiday Inn Express Bath by IHG

"Overall, we had a good stay. The breakfast was excellent with a great selection, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and welcoming throughout our visit. The only downsides were that the parking was quite expensive, although we managed to find cheaper parking nearby, and the elevator was out of order during our stay. Apart from these minor issues, everything else was good, and we felt the hotel offered fair value. We would be happy to stay here again."

Savoy Hotel

"We wanted a cheap overnight stay last minute and booked this hotel. It is actually a newer building to the savoy (but the same chain). It still smells of fresh paint. We got what we wanted with this hotel. All the amenities available, clean room, bedding and linen, the shower was hot. There was a TV with remote, wifi access and a kettle (plus some complimentary tea and coffee). The hotel has a few limited parking spaces outside (for £10). It has a feeling of being secure, with a key code access after a certain time at night. Its a stones throw from the beach and a 24 hour car park. The host Ali was very welcoming and seems like a very decent guy. Very helpful and gave us some good recommendations. If you want something clean, good location and good for the price I would definitely recommend this place and we will definitely use next time we are down. Thanks very much"

Sidcot Arms

"We were greeted by friendly staff on arrival with lots of fuss made over our dog. We booked a family room ( not sure we were allocated the room we booked) and were allocated room 1. The room was very small and didn’t have any kind of view. We had to switch the air conditioning off because it was very noisy. Room looked a bit tired. Lovely basket with dog treats, dog bowl and poo bags left for us. Sparce choice for adults and nothing for our daughter. We ate in the restaurant, staff were very friendly but service was slow. We enjoyed our food when it arrived. Breakfast was ok but you didn’t get a lot of choice. The hotel room was fairly cheap when we booked, the hotels in s nice spot with plenty of parking. Was it good value? Yes. Would we recommend? Yes. Would we stay again? Yes for the same rate that we paid ."
