I really enjoyed my stay here and have to stay it's real value for money. I often stay with hotel chains, as you know what you get. This hotel however has changed my opinion, as you get much better value for your money and the service and food was excellent. Far better value than the so called value hotels such as Premier Inn etc.

The whole hotel is only around a year old and everything still seems like it's brand new. The breakfast was superb, the room was really nice and there's excellent on site parking in the two level underground carpark too. Will definitely be going back - Thanks.

We had a fantastic break, the hosts were perfect, the facilities great and we enjoyed the most amazing food. The breakfast buffet was extensive with a great range of local and home made produce and this was all followed by a mesmerising choice of hot food which included local produce. There was cake on hand all day along with fresh tea and coffee and the hosts couldn't do enough to ensure we had a great stay.

Brilliant attention to detail !! The owners treated us like old friends, and as it was or 34 wedding anniversary they had laid on various presents and extras. Thoroughly recommend.

We had a great stay. We were warmly welcomed and our room with bathroom was a good size and really clean. The bed was perfect. Breakfast was fantastic and we were really well looked after. Location is great for the sea front, bars, shops and bus and train station. Highly recommended.

Lovely small boutique hotel near the quayside with friendly staff and nicely decorated. Very busy with a coffee shop and restaurant on lower ground. Being one of the oldest buildings in the town it has low ceilings, steep stair cases, beams and wonky floors! The bedrooms are spotlessly clean and our bed and pillows were very comfortable. Really enjoyed our weekend away. The Charterhouse is within walking distance of the beach and the town. Perfect on a sunny day! Beautiful, well looked after grounds with outdoor seating and a swimming pool. Marion and Les are lovely and very helpful, they go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Lovely friendly staff, a very warm welcome. Also really useful information given on the local area of places to visit by the hosts. Fantastic heated pool very attractive, clean and a real luxury. Breakfast a very good choice nicely presented and delicious cooked breakfasts. We had a premier room which was lovely overlooked the side of property and a fridge in the room was fab. Beds had firm mattresses alittle hard for my spine, but great for the majority of people.

We booked a last minute one night stay. I felt slightly nervous after reading some reviews but there was no need to be. From the moment we booked until leaving the staff couldnt be more helpful. From making sure we got booked into the spa to allowing us to use the spa changing rooms for the outside pool ater checking out. We even had drinks delivered to us whilst in the hot tub. The second time I have stayed here. Staff very friendly and helpful. The food is great- excellent dinner and breakfast. Room good if a little hot. Excellent car parking which is a real asset. This time wasn't October so the Xmas trees weren't up! Will book again when visiting relative.

A family of four we stayed in room 1 there was more than enough room with a double bed, single bed and bunk bed. The room was light clean and there was a TV, DVD player, kettle in the room with tea coffee and even a bottle of water and 2 bottles of fruit shoot for the kids. There were also plenty of hangers in the wardrobe. We had our own bathroom across the hall and the owner Dawn could not have been nicer or more accommodating.
