Loch Ness Drumnadrochit Hotel

Loch Ness Drumnadrochit Hotel

8/10 Good
"The room was fine, clean and functional, though the window doesn’t open so it was a bit stuffy. Also, there is no soundproofing in the walls so you will hear what’s going on in the next room. This is an expensive area and this place is one of the cheaper hotels. The restaurant food was variable. The salmon on pea risotto was very good while the lemon tart was very forgettable. The staff were very good."

"the hotel was clean and tidy but needs upgrading in the future like most hotels this age. the hotel is in good location for the town centre. The bedroom was a good size but unable to open any windows. The tv was hard to get local programs and streaming channels. Overall we would stay again as we new the age of the property when we booked."

Glenmoriston Townhouse Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"We were here on vacation. The location was great, right by the river. The restaurant was good (they seem to dry-age their beef themselves). Staff very helpful, facility very clean. Only drawback, no elevator (which was only an issue with luggage, but staff offered to carry bags up for us). We'd happily come back."

Frequently asked questions

Which area of Foyers is best to stay in for cheap hotels?
For budget-conscious travellers looking for affordable accommodation in Foyers, focusing on areas slightly outside the immediate village centre, or exploring options in nearby settlements, often yields the best value. Foyers itself is a small, picturesque village, and while it has some lovely guesthouses and B&Bs, truly "cheap hotels" in the traditional sense are less common.Solo travellers will find that self-catering cottages or rooms in guesthouses just a short walk or drive from the main Foyers amenities can offer better rates. These often come with kitchen facilities, allowing for further savings on food. Look for properties along the B852 road, which runs beside Loch Ness; some offer stunning views without the premium price tag of a central location.Families might consider staying in slightly larger nearby villages such as Drumnadrochit, which is about a 20-minute drive north. Drumnadrochit has a wider range of accommodation types, including some more budget-friendly hotels and holiday parks, alongside local shops and eateries. While not directly in Foyers, the short drive makes it a practical base for exploring the Falls of Foyers and the surrounding Loch Ness area, and the larger selection often means better deals for family rooms.
How much does a budget hotel in Foyers cost?
Budget hotel prices in Foyers vary, but you can find a great deal from £40 on Expedia. To find the cheapest budget hotels, be flexible with your dates. Typically, off-peak and mid-week stays are cheaper. Stretch your budget further by looking for hotels with free breakfast, free parking or free airport shuttles. Sort your search results by "Price: low to high" to see our lowest rates.
When is the most affordable time to visit Foyers?
The most affordable time to visit Foyers is generally during the shoulder seasons of spring (April-May) and autumn (September-October), or even the quieter winter months (November-March), outside of the bustling peak summer period. During these times, you'll find better deals on accommodation and potentially cheaper travel. For solo travellers, visiting in spring offers milder weather for exploring the many walking trails around Loch Ness and the Falls of Foyers, often with fewer crowds than summer. Many guesthouses and B&Bs will have lower rates before the main tourist influx.Families might find autumn particularly appealing. The landscape is beautiful with changing colours, and while some attractions might have reduced hours, the savings on accommodation and the generally calmer atmosphere can make it a more relaxing and budget-friendly trip.
Is Foyers a budget-friendly destination?
Yes, Foyers is a budget-friendly destination, particularly for those looking to explore the natural beauty of the Scottish Highlands without breaking the bank. Its appeal lies in its stunning scenery and numerous free outdoor activities. For solo travellers and couples, accommodation options like guesthouses and self-catering cottages often provide good value compared to larger towns. Staying in Foyers itself, or nearby villages around Loch Ness, can offer a more tranquil and cost-effective base for exploration.Much of Foyers' charm comes from its free attractions. Visitors can easily spend days walking along the shores of Loch Ness, exploring the beautiful Falls of Foyers, and spotting local wildlife. There are also many walking and cycling trails in the surrounding area, offering breathtaking views and opportunities for adventure without any entry fees. Packing a picnic with provisions from a local shop is an excellent way to enjoy the scenery and save on dining costs.
What free activities should we do in Foyers?

The most prominent free attraction is the majestic Falls of Foyers, a dramatic waterfall cascading into Loch Ness, which can be easily accessed via well-maintained walking paths. You can spend hours exploring the extensive network of walking trails that criss-cross the area. The South Loch Ness Trail, for instance, offers stunning views of the loch and surrounding woodlands, superb for a leisurely hike or a more challenging trek. Keep an eye out for local wildlife and enjoy the peace and quiet of the Scottish countryside.Additionally, simply taking a stroll along the shores of Loch Ness itself is a rewarding experience. There are numerous spots where you can enjoy the serene waters, perhaps even catching a glimpse of the legendary monster.
Can I cancel my budget hotel reservation on Expedia?
Many Expedia hotel reservations are refundable, provided that you cancel before the hotel's cancellation deadline. This is often within 24-48 hours of your scheduled arrival.
