Nice hotel with a working elevator. Some mixed messages when I arrived early for check-in. Limited space for guests bag and was offered to keep mine in the lobby which wasn’t safe. Eventually I was allowed an early check-in but it was a confusing mixed-message back and forth. Staff was polite during the process. Room was solid.

Room is very small, amenities are so poor, only one small piece shampoo each day. No conditioner , shower gel/ body wash… The bathroom vent is very old and makes loud noise. Room is not soundproof, heard noises from street until midnight or later 😌 Hard to sleep at night.

We loved staying at Hotel Martelli. We are actually returning customers. The amazing Florence breakfast in the beautiful breakfast room was something we enjoyed every day! The staff was very welcoming and the location was perfect! We will stay here next time we visit this great city!

Toilet did not flush and the shower did not drain. We were given two twins when we booked a double. We asked to switch rooms upon noticing the shower issue and staff was abrasive and did not provide a solution. They said there were no more rooms and they could have a repair man come in the morning. They inquired why we were unhappy with the room after we told them the issues. We didn’t even mention the mold and peeling wallpaper in the room. The next morning they allowed us to move to a new room. This room had the bed we requested but the shower also did not drain. The door to the new room was nearly impossible to unlock and open and staff had to help us open the door. The hotel was not secure. We had to leave our room key at the desk when we left, but upon returning, all we had to give was our room number to be given access to the key, no security check to confirm our identity matched the name. Anyone could have walked in and said a room number and got the key to that room! Don’t stay here!

Hair dryer was not working. Hand basin was not draining well. We had spare toilet paper, but the day before we leave, that disappeared. ( we have get one from reception). The daytime reception gentleman was so friendly.

Needed a one night stay after flight was cancelled. Hotel rooms are basic but clean. Bathroom a bit worn but okay. It worked well for one night and is close to shopping and restaurants and the cathedral. The staff were very gracious. We inquired the day before if we could leave our bags before check in and we could. However when we arrived the next day at 10:30 am our room was ready for us. The manager made sure to have our room cleaned first. Exceptional service.

Location of the hotel is perfect to see the main attractions in Florence. The hotel is spotlessly clean. We asked to change rooms after the first night as the shower was in the bath and due to mobility problems I it was almost impossible to got in. The member of staff was very helpful, changing our room to one better for me. He even offered to arrange for someone to move our bags.

I was given a room with one individual bed, too small, that I could hardly fit. The room was also very small a dark. Very different from the pictures in the advertising. Too expensive for such a room

It was in a very convenient place. The room numbers were odd!! We put a no entry on our room - cause we are away for 3 months and did some washing of undies - and they still came into our room. Breakfast was good and staff were attentive. The toilet made weird noises like it was leaking. Air conditioning was hard to work and not that affective.

It was a great location but it’s old. The parking is off site a several blocks down the road at a public parking garage. We arrived at 0300 after having a problem at another hotel we booked through hotels.com. The AC didn’t work in the first room we were given. The second room was smaller but fine for the 3 people staying in the room. There was a tub and a handheld shower but no walls on the tub to prevent water from getting out onto the floor. The breakfast left a lot to be desired. Bed was hard and not sure if the sheets were changed after the last guest.

Good morning, your reservation with Expedia was for a Triple room (for 3 person) and you arrived in 4 (2 adults and 2 girls aged 14 and 15). Unfortunately the law in Florence does not allow us to keep four adult people in a triple room so we had to add a single room for the fourth person. Usually familyes of four book 2 rooms: 1 double and 1 twin bed that are close toghether. So we had to charge more for an extra room. I do not understand your bad review, we tried our best for our customers.

The hotel’s best asset is the position to the city centre, literally a 3 minute stroll. The room was a good size but very tired and in need of a lick of paint. The breakfast was good and ample. The big downside was the mosquito problem, literally eaten alive at night with bites all over. I know this is a Florence problem and not just the hotel’s but even perhaps a simple bed net would have helped. Luckily, and unsurprisingly, the convenience stores and chemists are full of mosquito remedies.But if you are prone to mosquito bites please take some preparations with you.My tip would be to try out the Bullet train from Florence Station just a short walk from the hotel.We had a lovely day in Rome and it was so easy and the train was fast and efficient.

Nice stay
Was a nice stay stay and very near the sights and Train station originally they made a mistake giving us a double instead of Twin but they made amends.Noisy from the street outside but me and my cuz did not care.

Great location
Hotel was excellent location, 1 block from Duomo. Check in very easy. Room was larger for European hotel however bath room was tiny. No room to turn in shower, however this is not something that would prevent me from staying again. Breakfast was varied and good

the room number i get is 72, it's like they convert storage to a room or something, there is a little sink on the top of my bed, the heater make loud noise all day long and does not blow hot wind at all, the shower don't have hanger so you need one hand to hold while taking shower

The location is great, less than a 10 min walk to the train station and a 5 min walk to the Duomo and the historic center. Plenty of restaurants and museums within easy reach, no need for a car. The hotel is clean, the rooms are decent size, although not as nice as the pictures available online. Not the most comfortable beds. Breakfast was included and the lady in charge of setting it up was really friendly and pleasant host.

Concerned with fire?
We had a very difficult time finding our rooms. We had to go up one elevator, walk through a room and them go up another elevator. Rooms 58 and 60. It felt like a fire-trap. We only stayed one night. When we opened the bathroom door it was couldn't open fully since it hit the bed.

This property was very central to Florence city centre, hotel was very Italy look and nice and clean But negative points where room air conditioning was very poor, room faced onto road works from 06.00. Asked to be moved to a back room next night, which receptionist did arrange only to be put in room 2 doors along from my original room facing onto main road, both mornings was a disgrace. Breakfast was very basic not any hot food available, and only a small choice.

The Hotel is in a central position so unfortunately sometimes during summer you can hear voices and cars from outside the building. I am sorry you did not liked breakfast. We do have choice: Assorted fresh bread rolls briosch fresh empty , cream , jam , chocolate fresh pineapple cake or apple donut varied chocolate or yoghurt taste jam tart taste blackberry or apricot rusks cereal cornflakes , puffed rice chocolate , muesli dry biscuits for tea fresh fruit of the season peaches and plums in syrup yogurt mixed tastes hard-boiled eggs salami , ham , cheese, cheese spreads Nutella , jam , honey pineapple juice , orange , cranberry milk , coffee , chocolate , tea Regards Hotel Martelli
