Perfect spot for visiting the old town. Just about ten mins walk from hotel.

We have stayed at the Hofwirt for many years and always been pleased with the accommodation and service. We booked 5 rooms for our Wedding in Salzburg last week. 2 garden facing balcony rooms for two weeks. We had a fantastic corner room overlooking the garden and mountains. Perfect for wedding day prep photos, clean, light and spacious. My parents had a garden balcony too and Aunt and Uncle a city view when they joined us for the second week. We were blown away by the service, resort facilities, environment, food, room, attention to detail, everything at this resort and would have no hesitation in returning - we loved our 7 days there

I’ve stayed here many times over the years. And enjoyed. This time I was allocated a room over the road in the annex. Make sure you stay in the hotel or go somewhere else. Just saying!!

Great location, clean and helpful friendly staff.

We love this hotel for many reasons: location is perfect, the warmth and kindness and helpfulness of the staff, the size of the rooms and bathroom, wonderful extra touches, fantastic restaurant. It is the embodiment of old world, elegant charm.

Great stay!! We were here for Christmas Eve/Day and it was perfect. Parking was easy and secure- right around the corner from the hotel as it is a pedestrian only area. The location is perfect and we walked everywhere. We also had breakfast here and had a wide selection of traditional European items. The room was clean, although slightly dated, but that didn't take away from our excellent experience. Would stay here again!

Great location. Many restaurants around the area. Walkable to all tourist area and shopping area. Nice view of the Fortress, river, and mountains from our room, and from roof top bar. Nice clean room.

A second visit to the Blaue Gans - our 'go to' hotel when in Salzburg. A direct bus line from the airport drops you right outside the door - and your then based within an easy walk of all the main attractions in the old town. Fantastic staff throughout, with an extremely helpful reception team to help you get the most from your visit. Comfortable rooms, beautiful, simple, and with great design. If just there for a long weekend a 'regular room' will be perfectly adequate as they all have...

Great stay!

Really spacious suite, with amazing wrap around balcony. Amazing stay right in the heart of it all in Salzburg. Would definitely stay again, if we came back to Salzburg.

Ulrike, who manages Front of House, was absolutely superb. She provided one of the best welcomes I have enjoyed in a hotel for a long time.

We were warmly greeted and our room was ready on arrival at 10.15 am. Service from management and staff was faultless. We enjoyed the traditional Austrian décor, warm and spotless bedrooms with lovely view from balcony, and the breakfasts were very good.

Very central to the old town. Walking distance to everywhere. Use of washing machine was brillant they even had detergent. Internet good. Beds (2 joined together v comfortable. Would stay here again in Strasbourg. No 7 bus brings you to a lovely lake to swim in.

Red roses,champagne,duvet folded in shape of heart with rose petals arranged around it...unexpected for our wedding anniversary. View from our window was of river, castle, and old town. Perfect room in everyway. All the staff were friendly and helpful in everyway. Could not fault hotel in anyway. Best hotel we have ever stayed in on our travels over the years
