"We cannot not be happier with our stay. Audrey and William are the friendliest of hosts with whom we shared laughs and stories. They were very caring, making sure we receive top service and advised us on our plans. The cabins are very cute and cozy, and very clean with perfect views. The farm animals were friendly and playful. Breakfast was delicious. Needless to say we want to return on the next opportunity!"

"Really cool little bar/restaurant downstairs, nice quiet rooms with loads of hot water in the baths and really comfy beds. Amazing views of the mountains from the window and all around the hotel. Staff were great, some were able to speak in English, others in Spanish so we found everything easy. Would definitely stay again"

"Hotel Continental Balneario
The hotel is located in the heart of the Pyrenees mountains with a stunningly beautiful mountainside backdrop which is absolutely picturesque. The hotel has an extensive spa with thermal baths. It has its own in house restaurant and other restaurants on site. We ate in the hotel restaurant which was a tasty buffet style offering a wide range of salad, hot meals and deserts.
All the staff were extremely friendly, polite and welcoming.

I was doing a cycle ride in the area and the owners were very helpful - storage area for bikes, getting up at 04.30 to provide breakfast before the ride, etc.

Our stay at Sarrato Aparthotel was absolutely wonderful. The cosy studio had everything we needed, making it feel like a home away from home. Waking up to breathtaking mountain views and enjoying breakfast on the balcony was the perfect start to our days. The staff went above and beyond to assist us in every way possible—just a heads-up, they primarily speak Spanish.

The couple who own this place were extremely friendly and provided a first class experience. Their hospitality was exceptional. The place was very clean and modern, and the breakfast was amazing. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

I booked a single standard room & emailed to say I would prefer a shower to a bath and I was placed in a Junior Suite, with walk in shower (in addition to a shower over a bath), a lounge area with tea making facilities and a fridge as well as a bedroom which seemed larger than the standard room. The price stayed the same, so I was very pleased with this, and very comfortable. All rooms are air conditioned. There is a steep slope up to the entrance with an alternative of steps from half way up,...

Friendly, busy hotel close to the Sanctuary, shops and restaurants. Staff are helpful and able to converse in several languages. Rooms spacious and clean. Good size bathroom with shower. Plenty of space in the reception area. Big plus is free wifi.

The best area to stay in Ferrieres is generally within the village centre or the immediate surrounding countryside, offering convenience and a peaceful setting.
The village centre of Ferrieres is quite compact and well-kept. It centres around the Mairie (Town Hall) and the local church, with a few small shops and a bakery. The streets are narrow and winding, typical of a historic French village, and you'll find a few local restaurants here. It's a good spot for those who enjoy being able to walk to amenities.
For couples looking for a relaxed retreat, staying just outside the village centre in one of the gîtes or boutique hotels offers the best of both worlds. These properties often provide stunning views of the Occitan landscape, a more secluded experience, and easy access to walking trails. You're still only a short drive or a pleasant stroll from the village's conveniences.
Families might find staying in a larger gîte or a holiday rental in the immediate countryside surrounding Ferrieres particularly appealing. These often come with more space, outdoor areas for children to play, and perhaps even a private pool.
When is the best time to go to Ferrieres?
The best time to visit Ferrières, Occitanie, is during late spring (May to June) and early autumn (September to October).
During these months, the weather is pleasantly warm and sunny, making it ideal for exploring the natural beauty of the region without the intense heat of mid-summer. You'll find the countryside lush and green, superb for outdoor activities like hiking and cycling in the surrounding Tarn-et-Garonne area. It's also a great time to enjoy the local markets and vineyards, which are less crowded than in peak season.
Couples looking for a peaceful escape will particularly appreciate these periods. The tranquil environment allows for relaxed walks through the fields and along the Aveyron river, and the local eateries are less busy, offering a more intimate dining experience.
