"Great Hotel, excellent location"
My husband and I, stayed at the BW Chena River for four nights prior to joining a land based and then cruise tour early September.
Was apprehensive about the accommodation in Fairbanks as well as being in a central location, however after reading review for the BW Chena decided to book there.
This was a great place. Location is only 10 minutes from the airport. As we were unable to get in touch with the hotel prior to arriving to arrange their taxi shuttle, we caught a cab at our own expense, which worked out to be $25 US.
We found the hotel to be fairly new and well maintained. Rooms and common areas clean and fresh. It’s right across from several large stores including the great Fred Meyers, where you can purchase clothing, food, alcohol etc. etc. As well, there are a few good places to eat, including several fast food outlets.
Front desk staff were also friendly and accommodating. With the exception of being misinformed that that we could get a public bus into downtown Fairbanks, only to discover after waiting at the stop that it was a public holiday and that there were no buses !!!!
The breakfast was great. Hot items included, eggs, bacon, sausages, potatoes, as well as pastries, cereals, coffee, tea and juices. Always plentiful and fresh. The only suggestion that I would have here to the Management is that the breakfast space is very small.
