Mercure Exeter Southgate Hotel

"This hotel was easily accessible and the car park is a good size. It's in a great location for the city centre, which is a few minutes walk away. The room was nice and spacious and the bed was very comfortable. I struggle to sleep in new places, but I had no issues here. All of the staff were lovely and helpful and happy to answer any queries. We sat in the bar area in the evening for a drink and it was cosy feeling, relaxing and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious and I wish I could have tried more of the food, but I was full. Would definitely stay here again, and try to make use of the gym and pool next time."

"Friendly staff, good location. Very quiet hotel. We didn't hear anything from inside our room even with a full hotel. Breakfast was good and the location is very handy to both train stations and the city center"

"Hotel: Easy check-in. Spacious, well appointed room. Comfortable. No dressing table with well lit mirror, which sadly seems a common theme with modern hotels. The View Restaurant: Welcoming, friendly knowledgable and attentive service without being intrusive, spacious with fantastic views, reasonable prices for very well presented and tasty meals. Unusual that the accessible room allocated was on the 7th floor (therefore up a lift or several flights of stairs), at the very end of the corridor, then off the side wing of that beyond a fob controlled door into a short corridor."

"Nice modern hotel, plenty of parking available and EV chargers, rooms clean and a good size TV, restaurant food was good and breakfast was very good, my only complaint would be that my room was roadside and there was road noise throughout the night"

"The location was very pleasant and close to the town and both railway stations. My room was large, comfortable, dark in style. Bed was very comfortable and firm. Toiletries and provisions were basic. I didn't try the breakfast. I expected a bit more quality given the price, perhaps it was a bit overpriced. I didnt see the staff much but they seemed pleasant."

"spacious room with large bathroom ! shower was very good either plenty of pressure and hot water. easily accessible hotel by using the number 7 from exeter bus station. The manager is a sweetheart and she was very welcoming and chatty"

"Great location - very convenient for train station, and fantastic that dogs are allowed to stay, though no extras thrown in for them. No air conditioning though so room was very hot, even though an electric fan was provided."
