The best area to stay in Ettenkirch is the village centre, particularly around the Church of St. Martin.

This area offers a genuinely local experience, with traditional guesthouses and a few family-run restaurants. It's a tranquil spot, great for those looking to enjoy the rural charm of Baden, away from the busier lakeside towns. The main road through the village, Ettenkircher Straße, connects the various amenities.

Couples looking for a peaceful retreat will find the village centre ideal. You can enjoy strolls through the surrounding orchards and vineyards, and the nearby Lake Constance is just a short drive away for day trips. It's an excellent base for exploring the region without the hustle and bustle of larger tourist hubs.

For families, staying slightly outside the immediate village centre, in one of the guesthouses or holiday flats located amongst the orchards, offers more space and a quiet environment. These often provide amenities like small gardens, great for children to play, while still being a short walk or drive to the village's amenities.

For a truly exceptional experience in Ettenkirch, the best time to visit is during the late spring or early autumn.

Late spring, from May to early June, offers pleasant temperatures and the landscape is lush and green, making it ideal for outdoor activities. This period is great for enjoying the local walking and cycling paths that wind through the orchards and vineyards, often leading to stunning views of Lake Constance. The weather is generally mild, allowing for comfortable exploration of the area without the peak summer crowds.

Early autumn, from September to mid-October, is another excellent choice, especially for those who appreciate culinary delights and scenic beauty. This is harvest season, so you'll find an abundance of fresh local produce, including apples and grapes, directly from the farms.
