A lovely family run hotel which was a great base in Quito. We stayed here twice at either side of our trip to the Galapagos and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Everyone was lovely and nothing we asked for was too much. If we're ever back in Quito we are certain to visit again.

A brilliant stay. I chose this hotel because of its proximity to the airport & wanting to feel safe in Guayaquil given the UK FCO advice. It was perfect. I was upgraded on arrive to the sky club on the 7th floor. The room was brilliant, bed comfy, nice view, spacious, robe etc. the outdoor jacuzzi and pool were lovely for a dip before bed. The staff were very nice and helpful, particularly the lovely staff member who spoke English in the restaurant. Dinner was nice as was breakfast. No...

The hotel was very good. They brought a kettle to our room. The outdoor pool was heated and the sauna and steam room worked. The airport transfer was reliable. Families with children bought day passes which is good. Will stay again.

Very modern property. Felt extremely safe staying here for 1 night between flights. Had a wonderful refreshing cocktail and dinner at the restaurant. Breakfast was excellent with a huge variety of dishes.
Having a complimentary shuttle to and from the airport was a huge plus point, as didn’t need to negotiate or worry about the journey. The staff are very attentive and helpful.

This is an amazing hotel converted from an extensive colonial building, now a luxurious place to stay. The price was cheaper than many other hotels. The architecture is fascinating, the food was good, the rooms were great. Will definitely go there again, and probably stay in this hotel whenever I go to Quito, which is likely to be often since my son has moved from UK to Mindo now!

Our choice of the Hotel Basilica was inspired. The hotel is a heritage hotel, formally the family home of one of the heroes of the independence struggle of Ecuador. The staff on arrival were throughout ,welcoming, hugely helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. The location is stunning in the midst of the UNESCO Heritage old city of Quito. Many of the most important sites in the city are easily accessible by foot from the Hotel. The Hotel arranged extremely good pick up from the airport and drop...

Lovely hotel, very boutique and beautiful, walking distance from the town centre (5 minutes) and easily accessible - no lift for access to the first floor but plenty of ground floor rooms if necessary for any disability requirements. Restaurant is on the ground floor

The loveliest one night stay at Friends Hotel. Checked me in as soon as I arrived even though it was many hours before check in time (greatly appreciated as I was so tired!) Clean, comfy room with a balcony giving views up the mountain. Delicious breakfast with great views from the rooftop. Couldn't be more accomodating. Wish I had stayed longer, will definitely be back!

I can honestly say that all of the staff in this hotel are the most friendly I have experienced in any hotel - they became more like friends than staff by the end of my stay. They were willing to do whatever they could to help - cooking great meals, finding English football to watch on the TV, cleaning and drying my clothes after I came back from field work in the jungle covered in mud, and just generally being very chatty and friendly. I will certainly be returning here next time I'm in Quito....
